    Glad you liked it.
I have a request. Could you find a photo of the blower with the carb (side view) for me to use? I have spent over an hour looking and can't find one.

I will look for one. If I can’t find one, I’ll mock it up. I’m waiting for the carb base plate the it’s back to the dyno. But I’ll get the picture.

Edit: Apparently people with only one carb on their blowers are camera shy. I have found a few, but none of them are exactly a deamon on an 871.

    Hello,

The supercharger sticking out of the hood seems a bit high unless one has a riser base manifold. Otherwise, the angle space behind the firewall is high and the hump will interfere with everything.

But, why would anyone put in a riser manifold? Just to raise the supercharger and carbs?

An 871 is not that much taller than a 471 or a 671. But this set up sits under a stock hood of a Ford truck.

It has a listed drag racing history in So Cal and is a daily driver. It all fits under the hood.

For our own 1940 Willys Coupe build with an Edlebrock base manifold and Weiand top carb manifold for the 6 Strombergs on a stock level engine location, only the top of the carbs showed beyond the hood level. No blower was showing.

It is a nice photo insert, but perhaps you could lower it to real specs. YRMV

Thank you. I’m not sure how high it will stick out. I’m still trying to get my head around the idea but we are definitely going there if the engine will perform right on the dyno. I’ll set it as low as I can and hope I can clear the hood. I’ve been looking at 55 & 56 Chevy drag cars and some have carbs through the hood and some have blowers partially out of the hood. Once it’s in I’ll post the pictures together. Without a reference to base on I think your pictures are great.

Wow, just found this thread. You guys are good at this stuff. Could someone just extend this cab for two views? From the front edge of the tape going back two thicknesses and three thickness of the tape? That should be a 4" or 6" extansion. I don't think I will go more than that. Thanks in advance! I'd guess that the longer extension could give you room for a larger radius for the back of the cab and be easier to the eye.

  22. An idea I had for building a 1960 Chevy crew style cab.

Would someone be willing to help clean up the edges i.e.- Drip rails, window tops, and line up the rear rockers?

Maybe ditch the rear bumper and rear tire hanging out in space too.

. . . now section the body 2 or 3 inches and you'll be getting there.

If someone is bored and wanting to take on a photoshop, I'm looking to recreate a stockcar for the OT forum, that a local guy built that was a 67 Camaro with a roof off of a 65/66 fastback Mustang.
