I didn’t realize the picture of it in the car didn’t show hardware installed. The strips at the seams underneath and the trans cover hold the wood together pretty solidly. And the trans cover attaches to the floor cross brace and firewall for support too.
The hinge largely stays in the stock spot. The a-pillar is very slightly notched around the hinge. When we chop this one, I’ll take a lot of pictures and maybe start a build thread on it.
This car was small Ford bolt pattern already and we’re not changing much on the chassis. So we found some ‘60’s Ford wheels and used them as-is on the front, then did get Buick hoops for the back and reversed them on the later Ford centers. The rear end is pretty narrow, so they fit well under the fender. The caps are aftermarket made to fit these later wheels.
