Hello, Much has been said and photographed about this historic place. Long before our time stopping for lunch or dinner, it had a rich history as part of the San Francisco scene. Jutting out into the shoreline + breaking/rolling waves gave it a odd feeling while inside. The Cliff House was a destination for sure... Whether it was for lunch, or a late night dinner with the fog rolling in and the big waves crashing on the rocks below, it was ambience at its “most unusual.” Jnaki Our dad introduced us to this place when we came up the coast in his big black 1949 Buick Roadmaster and several years later, his 1953 two tone Buick sedan. Getty Images My wife and I have almost “lived there” on our coastal road trips to the S.F. Bay area as it just seems like old home week when we stop at this old place and its rich history + food. It was worth the stop for the ambience of the coastal enclave, if not for the view, the location at various tide, the atmosphere and the being on the farthest west location of the whole coastal area. It always fits into the “old home week,” again and again… from 1966 to 2019…YRMV
I was at St.Thomas Dragway, Ontario, Canada that day to see the Maynard Rupp Prussian run. Photo brought back great memories, thank you!
