This is absolutely outstanding, photographic evidence, of true hot rod evolution, from banger power, to V8 Ford flat-head power!

Wow Joey!! The car and stance look perfect!! What a milestone. Thanks for letting us share in your journey. It' not often you see a dream become a reality. As I get older I realize that we have to cherish these triumphs. You never know where life will take you and you have to realize that these are the good old days.

I am living vicariously through you. Can't wait to see the pictures of you ripping around SF in your "new" hot rod.

Joey, I have used a Johnson bar to move heavy machinery, but never used a Johnson bar to move a roadster body.

 

In all the pictures of taking the car over to David's with the body strapped to the chassis, the stance is perfects. After the crowbar and the brackets, the rear wheels seem to be not centered, but rather hanging out the back of the wheel well. Is this just a bad angle photo or what?

Also, I am kind of procrastinating on working on the Econoline right now. Well, I was, but reading about you guys putting the body on the chassis just gave me a big boost of excitement and motivation(dopamine?)!

I was thinking of the van he had at his booth at the Oakland Roadster Show early 60s. It was like his catalog just covered with random samples of his art. Come to think about it, it was pretty cool.
I took my '38 down Lombard a few times. Didn't have any free hands to take pictures with my Brownie.

 

I liked every version of Tom’s roadster, then again roadsters are always evolving, I guess.

Every version of every hot rod is just a snapshot in time unless someone thinks it has special status and "restores" it to its "original" form. Bob Dylan said that once a song is written down it is dead. If you think your rod is finished just sell it to someone and step back. Hot rodding is like all other art forms there is a lot of BS involved.
