Was going to contact Walker/Johnson radiators this morning and order up one of those nice radiators for my Cadillac powered (to be) 32 Ford coupe. Looked on Summit and found the Copper/Brass versions apparently require selling a body part before purchase. $1200-$1600 turned me off pretty quickly. So now I'm looking elsewhere for a suitable radiator. Current plan is no hood or side panels and a supercharger on a mildly modified 500 Cadillac. Any suggestions on what worked for you?
I had an alum years ago. They won't stand the rough highways if you drive at road speeds. All of the brass units are pricey. As an option, you can try a multicore 66 Mustang brass unit. That fits in the 32 grille shell with 1x2 tubing as uprights. I recommend a Cooling Components fan but they are high priced. I bought a aftermarket Ford taurus fan and so far have been very happy with it. It does require a 70 amp relay. If you use a 32 style radiator, make sure and use the bolts and springs to fasten it to the crossmember.
I use Walker Z & Brass works , I also use a Flat Head set up Why ?? Because I change engine combos , Like Jap 2Jz Straight 6 The 2 inlet /out let any combination I want and saves me on $$, I go back & forth on electric ( Spal big cfms) & 5 -6 blade mechanical 16-1/2 17 & water riser , & some times Just make my own
I'm running a 040 over 472, 9to1, mild cam, and Edelbrock intake and carb. Also using 180 stat, Flowcooler pump and full time 7 blade fan. Brassworks radiator, spendy but worth every penny. 190 to 210 constant for temps. All inside a slightly chopped 32 shell. Just for thought I bought a Champion aluminum for my 40 Ford for 270.00 brand new. Well built and cools the old flathead very well.
