I drug this home October. Owned by Don “Jimmie” Hudson from Norwalk, Ca. Painted by Dean Jeffries. Anyone know any history of the truck or have seen anything that resembles it? Trying to find any info in its present form and its past. I have some ideas of what it used to be but they are speculation at this point. Painted or at least pinstriped by Dean Jeffries in 57 or 58. I’m on the fence with what the number is in his signature on the hood. At one time the body was green then light yellow/cream color. Chassis has green, red and the light yellow overspray. Haven’t found any red on the body yet but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t red in its life or it may have had a chassis swap at some point. Also had stacks through the running boards that exited straight up the back of the cab (not belly burners) before this final rendition. It still has the holes in the running boards under the covers and has 2 welded holes each side for the pipe mounts.
Have had the red one as many parts scattered around for 10 years. The black one is a matching numbers 32 , now with cragar head 4 banger and Columbia rear. Started putting the red one together on a lazy Sunday from a big pile of parts . sold the following Saturday. Have to fund my habit somehow. I had reskinned the doors , done all the lower cab patches and made a new deck many years ago. Off to a new owner a week later.
Picked this up couple months ago. It’s fairly solid typical rot in doors. Had to buy hinges as the og’s have seen better days. Does anyone have build threads? Looking for pictures on the door structure for hinges. Maybe how you did your channels just for some insigt. Want to get the doors hung so I can square up the cab and get going on a frame then chop. This was literally all stuffed in the back of my ram to bring it home
Thanks HotRodPrimer for posting the pictures. To be clear, I didn't build this one I traded for it. It was built by Howard Farwell from K.C.MO. I've been thru it mechanically from front to rear and added new sheet metal all around plus the BLC fog lights that match the headlights. They are now running lights and turn signals. Also the right style 32 pickup horn not pictured. I've driven it almost every day except when the salt trucks are out. Probably have to wait for my estate sale, this ones a keeper. It's headed to the ROC in October.
