He was one of those rare guys who had 'the eye' for customs. His '40 Ford convertible is my all-time favorite of that model, and even though I didn't fully agree with his chop on his '50', his attention detail still set the car apart.

My condolences to his family, he'll be missed here for sure...

Saw that last night, what a loss. Really a great eye for design and creative rides.

Tony was a really interesting but very modest guy. He was a docent and guide at the Peterson Automotive Museum for years. He worked in the toy industry for decades, and was (if memory serves) vice president in charge of design for Hot Wheels.
He grew up in Los Angeles, and his dad has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his several decades long career as an actor in movies and early television.
    He will be missed.

Being a "Shoebox Guy", I really liked hos '50 "Fraud"; it was a special vehicle. I didn't know him but sure admired his sense of taste in automobiles.

    Go in peace.

  20. My sympathies to family and friends. We had conversed over the internet several times. He was one that I would have liked to have met in person. R.I.P.

    Hey @tubman

I didn't know Tony either, but I did enjoy his builds and especially the 50 Ford, the black one in this thread.
Just a couple of weeks ago, I opened up a drawer that had this 50 Ford hood ornament in it, that I had professionally re-chromed over 20 years ago, and I had totally forgot about it!

I had special plexiglass cut for it, with a beveled edge, to catch the light just right when angled in the sun.

So as a tribute to him, here is that Hood ornament.

    RIP Tony.
