God speed. One look at his cars and you know he had the "gift". An innate ability to know what 'looks right' design wise!
    Loved his cars.

  6. Hey all - I'm Tony's stepson. Thank you all for the kind words about our Pops. He had a rare affinity for car design both large and small (he retired as VP of Design for Hot Wheels in 2003, after all), and was one those guys who seemed infinitely knowledgeable about anything car-related, and that was pre-Google! :)

For those of you in SoCal, we're early in the stages of planning a memorial service for him - preferably a show and/or possibly a cruise. Details to come later. If you have thoughts or maybe an ability to help coordinate (I live in the Midwest!), please reach out here or direct via email: dschwartz75@gmail.com.

So sorry to hear of the passing, I loved all the cars ( that I got to enjoy ) built by Tony

  8. 100% on all this. Hot Wheels design was a perfect marriage of his creativity in toys and passion for automobilia.

RIP Tony. I dug his chopped 50 and watching the build on here. The video Hemi32 posted happened to be one of the ones I watched before going to the Petersen back in February to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

  19. Tony was a cool guy. One of the original members of the Anti-Donut, breakfast group. I loved his Roadster, #4 and the Pickup he towed it with. We talked about Hot wheels all the time.
RIP Tony, you will be missed....

I always admired Tony's work whenever he'd post. There are precious few people in custom cars who really understand the design elements and he certainly did. His taste was impeccable. Deepest condolences to his friends and loves ones.

  23. NOTE: Tony's 1950.5 Ford Victoria (aka "50FRAUD") is not black ... it's actually a very dark green.
