You just be careful trailering your hot rod behind the colorado. Slow and steady. Looking forward to seeing pics of the new set up. Then back to work!

I did get the Colorado LT with the big engine. 310 HP and 450 ft/lbs of torque with a 3.42 gear. Should have no issues with a rental trailer and my tie downs. I even get to try tow mode. One of the features is a camera pointed at the hitch for alignment for hook up.

Sweep, mop and shine the floor and walls, sounds like you will never see it all at the same time again!

Back in the eighties I had a big crew cab Chevy dually and a 26' enclosed trailer. Slow works much better. I too want to finish her up and enjoy the nice streets of Boise and surrounding area. The other good part is my budget has quadrupled!!

I hear good things about the indoor Boise Roadster show. I might have to plan a trip next year.

Do they still do the Northwest Motorfest? Growing up, that was a fun show to go to at the Boise fairgrounds.

IMG_1610.JPG I actually won the competition class at the 2006 Boise Roadster Show with my 63' Corvette I built!
And I mean I did everything. She's converted to street and is up in Canada in some rich guys collection. You are correct, it is a good show!! If you are really interested, Google, mike and donna flamm and hit images. I would love to hear your opinions!?

It's been quite awhile since my last entry! Bought two new vehicles and a new house back down in Boise. The coupe has been sitting since June. Finally got back on her. Tore my generator apart, the housing and field windings looked rough. Got a rebuilt case with new windings, and brushes. That's all painted up and ready to go back on the coupe, hoping my overvoltage problem will be no more! Justed fabbed up two air vents for my trunk mounted battery box. Black anodized aluminum tubing and copper elbows
They will go thru the floor with opposite slash cuts to take air in and vent the box. The third project is the bullnose trim and the spear on the cowl. The spear from SoCal has thick sticky tape. Not my favorite way to fasten it to the cowl! So I scraped some of the sticky off. To my surprise there are two holes already drilled in the bottom and both are tapped. Saves the time and trouble of doing that. I will try to post more from now on!

Lately most of the parts I get are way to expensive and don't fit without modifications. Anybody else experiencing this or am I the only one? Glad my coupe is so far along, don't think I would want to be starting from scratch now!

Hate to say it but that is nothing new, in the past I recall throwing a few things in the trash trying to salvage something that could not be fixed.

Same here. I’ve said it several times. I could not afford to build another car with current prices and quality. You pay a small fortune for something you have to cut into 3 pieces and spend 20 hours of work in order for it to work. When every single thing you need is a thousand dollar bill and the first course of action is to break out the death wheel, BFH, and the welder…. Sorta takes the fun away. I’m fine doing that $20-$100 at a time, but not $1000. Keep your eyes on the prize though - you’re almost done!

And God help you if you call the company for tech support - same goes for if you have to farm anything out to someone else. I’ve just accepted that my money is no good to anyone else except for things like taxes and mortgages and medical bills and insurance and such things the American dream is made of.

My latest fiasco is the center hood hinge pieces. The part that fastens to the hood half won't come close to sliding in the stainless center section, let alone pivoting on the center. Out comes the cutting wheel , duck bills, and finally the hammer! Glad I have some imagination and lots of time!

I think a lot of vendors/mfr's actually think because we are "creatives" we'll let them off the hook and figure it out ourselves.
    Seems far too common nowadays.

That and shipping costs added on top makes it prohibitive?!

Finally got the center hinge pieces to play nice. It took 30 minutes of aggressive grinding with a worn 4" disc. Now to mount the hood halves plus the latches. Definitely one of the more challenging tasks in this whole project. Glad it's behind me. Next, door latches and window regulators!

Well coupes getting close . Bad issue, my tires are almost 10 years old. Guess I will replace them with something safer. I have never had a set of T/A radials. Might look good. Any other ideas?

I like you and your build thread. You want to jump into the What Tire Should I Run? fire?

Get the best quality you can afford in the size you want. If that's limited to bias, it's a fairly narrow expensive field. For radials, it's a bit more common, cheaper and you have to decide if you want the same brand/model tire which again limits choices when going big n little.
This has a 15" chart for what's made.
    https://tiresize.com/comparison/
Select what you want for size and type. Include expected use (gymkanna, mud+Snow, max speed, or just nice day cruisin').

At least you will only get 200 different arguments!:)

Did some more research. I found out you can store them for up to 10 years before use, and be ok depending on how they were treated. Mine were babied, cleaned, pressure checked. Not near any source of ozone in a heated garage. Car was always on stands. Caution to the wind, I am using them for awhile. I will keep a close eye on them. No sign of dry rot, ply shift or any other issues. Besides I like the way they look!

I figure a good smoking burnout out will get rid of the old surface rubber on the slicks too! Can't wait!!!
