. . . now section the body 2 or 3 inches and you'll be getting there.

If someone is bored and wanting to take on a photoshop, I'm looking to recreate a stockcar for the OT forum, that a local guy built that was a 67 Camaro with a roof off of a 65/66 fastback Mustang.

I'm out of town for a few days so can't do it.
But someone else will probably do it, especially if you can provide a couple pictures of the original car.

if you look at a reg t cab.... that 4'' band is not there..again my problem is cutting up a perfect 100 year old cab...
you can just remove the filler piece on the bottom of the windshield the 4'' band goes all the way around the cab. .

If you chop and section a T cab, can a human still fit in it?

    Hello,

A while back, I looked at a friend’s old Suburban and drew what I thought would make it look a little more interesting. He had a nice paint job and 5 spoke mag wheels to keep it simple and clean. For fun, my wife and I talked about…"What if the Suburban was customized, lowered and made a popular color with water flames for a coastal vibe?" We laughed and said Moon Discs were just enough to make the Suburban somewhat racy.
    upload_2024-7-4_3-2-3.png
So, I added a different set of mag wheels and orange paint. I was going to outline some pinstriping in purple, but it looked to harsh. So, I added “water flames.” His family is also a coastal beach going family.
    upload_2024-7-4_3-2-56.png
But, as I got to the finished part of the project, something kicked into my brain from a relative. He wanted to get a new crew cab truck that would be large enough to carry a family of 4 easily and not have a cramped extra cab in size. Plus, he carried a lot of lumber and “stuff” in the bed. So, he bought a full size truck with the extended crew cab doors and shorter bed. Then I went to work on his vision.
    upload_2024-7-4_3-3-42.png
Using the old 60s Chevy model, I altered the overall look to utilize a new/old crew cab unit.
    upload_2024-7-4_3-4-10.png
My friend would need to use racks because the bed is too short for the mid range surfboard to fit in the shortened stock bed. So, note that if a crew cab is made in the new/old models, the bed will have to be shortened, otherwise, the proportions are way too overboard. The 4x8 plywood pieces, if needed would have to go in vertically and strapped down.

The one complaint of old crew cabs and even the new models, is that the bed is shorter and loads are limited to carrying capacity. Yes, a longer bed could be added, but then the proportion of the overall custom build is thrown out. A longer bed looks as if it was stretched on those old Frankenstein movies where they pulled on both ends to make something taller or longer. Ha!

Extra heavy duty air shocks for those extra kids…

    Note:

I was adding a matching blue crew cab version to a story on Mickey Thompson’s record setting Bonneville speed run journey. So, I gave it some extra panel striping. But, if anyone could make the extra long bed crew cab work to good proportions, it was the Westside of Long Beach shop that could do it.

Or you could save yourself a ton of work and go for a sixties "Tall T" look. Here's my favorite: 1962-10 copy.jpg

It was red with 15" steel wheels and unfortunately I don't remember what number he ran, I even asked the widow of the promoter of the local track that they ran for 50 years and she couldn't help me.

Found this in a 2014 article on the 22nd annual Mooneyes Rod & Custom Show, Japan:

"Joe Cruce’s Tall T Was The Oct. ’62 R&C Cover Car And Now Lives In Japan. We Believe That Shun From The Deuce Factory Is The Current Caretaker."

Sure, no problem. As long as you sit in it sideways, scrunched up with your knees in your chest, also helps to take out the seat and the steering column.

One more. I didn't like the way the wheels scaled up so I redid them and did a bit more cleanup.

thanks a million,... so I'm finally on a path....LOL... here's the plan... gonna take the cowl loose from the body and mount it to the frame, then body drop the cab (channel) it to where the bead rolled Reville on the door comes down to match the one on the cowl... this will put the door bottom close to the running board top...if that makes sense. once that's done... I'll get a good look at the rest and decide if it needs any takin out of the top, and also look at stretching the cab a bit ....I don't want to channel the firewall, and want the stock hood to fit,,,also gonna remove the filler strip above the cowl,,,if you look at this pic, you'll see that the bead rolls don't line up stock...looks to be about 8" or so, also gonna open up the back of the cab at the window to match the side windows...

48'' is plenty, the thing with the tall T is the long door bottom,... where you run into problems channeling a car is you end up sitting on the car instead of in it..and having to not have any seat riser ...like said though... we;ll see.. only thing I'll be doing first is taking the cowl loose from the cab, that way I can body drop the cab to the running boards and see where i'm at,.. I think even with the body drop I can still have a seat riser,.. thats where comfort comes to play..

I'd like if possible to see this pic with just the cab dropped , with the cowl staying stock....I think it will still have the tall T look, but not the too tall "T" look... thanks again for all the help...

what I see when I look at this picture, nothing looks right... nothing lines up to normal..if just the cab was dropped to the running boards , and the belt line on the cab matched the belt line on the cowl it would be easier on the eye...

Looking to get some photoshop assistance. I'm building a 32 three window coupe. The best side view picture I could come up with is co-incidentally the same car that I want to somewhat emulate with mine. It's the Gammel coupe. I don't plan to run a hood because I want to run an 8-71 blower on the engine. I will probably need to extend the length of the front of the car to make room for the "longer than a smallblock" Cad engine and the blower drive. Hoping not to have to recess the firewall. I'd like to see what the proportions look like with the front extended 2" and 4". I think hood will get longer as the fenders, wheels, and radiator move forward, and I need to extend the runningboards either at the rear of the runningboard or the front.

Edit: Just to clarify, the wheelbase will also move forward. Stock wheelbase is 106 "

If anyone can work their magic on these photos, I would appreciate your help.......:)
