The Jenkins Motor Car Company was owned by J. William Jenkins. The first year of manufacture was in 1907. The factory was at at 1135 University Ave. in Rochester. A notice in the July 18, 1912 issue of "The Automobile" (page 155) says that the Jenkins Motor Car Co. has been discontinued and will continue as the Shafer-Decker Company. Then in the 1913 Rochester City directory Mr. Jenkins is listed as owning the Jenkins & Grant Restaurant at 1125 University Ave. The Jenkins Motor Car Company continued to be listed in the Rochester directories. In 1913 directory the address is 1123 University Ave. and then in the 1914 and 1915 directories the address is 215 East Ave. Mr. Jenkins probably was selling autos made by other manufacturers. The 1916 directory says that J. William Jenkins had removed to Washington, DC.
