those heads are a bit newer than L88, aren't they? with the D ports but they are a heck of a lot closer than most heads out there
I believe they’re open chamber L88 heads that have had the exhaust ports welded up. Presumably by Manning Brady Racing Heads I think the 1971 LS6 used the 026 heads with a D shaped exhaust port but they have a small raised divider which these don’t and you could get them over the counter from GM. I could be wrong though.
Interesting. The 074 heads I had were round port, cast in 1970. Perhaps they're later castings? or could have been welded, but if so they did a great job of it!
While you're studying the procedures at the starting line, pay attention to the burnouts. If you're on regular street tires, there is no need for a John Force style burnout. A simple short burnout to knock the dust/glaze off is all you need, a smoke show will do more harm than good. Do the burnout out of the groove so you don't peel the rubber off the track that the guys on slicks/radials need. Most importantly, have fun!
Cracks and patches, I see some things are the same in staging lanes everywhere you go! At least this end looks fairly dry.
Yep. Having fun. First run bogged down after the start. Second run spun the wheels after the start. Third run missed the change to second. Doh!! I’ll post some in car when I’ve downloaded them.

Had fun, Check. Didn't break anything, Check. Learned the car and car control, Check. Got pictures to prove it happened, Check. Winning or finding money on the ground would be the only way it could have gone better.
