Actually it wasn't a park as much as much as it was a bowling alley parking lot. But it was a car show and a pretty nice one at that.

The temps were in the mid 90's as the show wrapped up. The venue was excellent. Started at 10:00, Bar and grille at the alley opened at 11:00. Excellent burger and bloody Mary's. Show ended at 2:00. And the AC inside was a welcome treat. I drove home with the AC blaring in the PU. I have never had AC in a hot rod or classic car. Nice touch!

The Plymouth Suburban is a killer.

This show did something I have seen several times and do not understand. I am not intending being critical. Just don't understand.

A beautiful prewar [ or any class ] wins BEST IN SHOW. Another beautiful prewar [or?] wins BEST PREWAR.

If I just won either of those, I would wonder why another won the other one. Just doesn't compute, or am I missing something.?

By the way, what is the best in show. I could not be certain. Can you show it in the "other " thread?

Yeah, no argument from me. That 55 210 was business. Pure and simple. The Nomad had a a modern interior that distacted in my opinion with the rough and ready exterior. But to each their own.

Thanks you! It is Char's first hot rod and she loves winning some bling. I wish she coud have been there for the award ceremony but she had a work thing to do. Loan Officers are 24/7, if they are any good.
The best in show award was one that I would hate to deliver. How can you choose between all the great cars in attendance? The one they selected was a Lasalle with what appeared to be a headered, BBC wearing Cadillac script aftermarket rocker covers. No hood sides, big wheels, a bit street roddy for the HAMB, but obviously a nice car.

The best in show is a travelling trophy as I understand it. I do not know if the crowd selected it or a judge but I would imagine it was a crowd selection. I didn't take many pictures as it was nearly impossible to escape the wheels the pro street style engine. Still a nice car, I would have chosen the 55 210.

Great job, Billy. Your photographic skills are getting to be where you're just about up there with Greenburg. I'm not a Chevrolover, but I would feel right at home in that faded '57.

Some very nice paint! I forget which car won best paint but that would have been a real hard call.

I appreciate that. She dropped by the cruise in to see how it was going and eat lunch in the alley. She was there long enough to talk to a few folks about her truck and answer questions. I like that. She may not have built it, but she paid attention

Amen! That was what I call an honest car. No fakery, no pretend patina, just a tough old bird wearing hot rod wheels. I'm glad the hood was down, I would have been sooooo depressed and disappointed if there was an LS under there.

Glad you gents liked them and thank you. I am not a photog, but I do like reporting back with positive, upbeat coverage of our hobby. Our summer is short here, we take advantage of it and get the cars out of the garage.

I did have to laugh at one point while walking around Crosley Lanes parking lot, talking to fellow minded folks. I was reminded of that scene from Pleasantville where the men are all worried and having a town meeting of sorts.
