I've hooked up a new harness to my 55 custom but I'm not getting any turn signals. I've tried to hook them up in different but nothing works. When I use the turn signal the light just goes out. The brake lights work but front and back turn signals do not. What am I missing to make these functional? And is there a way to convert to the push and twist style bulb sockets or no?
When you say 55 custom...is it a Ford? or what? Without seeing how you have it connected, it's really hard to help you. More description, pictures, etc will help. Like...what turn signal switch does it have? What color wires on the harness are connected to what color wires on the switch? Things like that. And the bulbs...what are you talking about?
did you run the brake light wires through the turn signal switch? i know that when you add one, you're supposed to cut the wires from the brake sending unit to the brake lights.
For once, every one of those questions is spot on. Now: what year, make and model of vehicle are you working on? What wiring harness (brand and model wise) did you use? What turn signal switch is in the vehicle? OEM 55 ?? Aftermarket column? Swapped from a donor column? Those things are things that we need to know if we are going to give real and valuable help. Remember that the key has to be on for most turn signals to work. I would bypass the flasher with a small jumper wire and check and see if the turn lights come on at all when I turn the switch to left or right. One more thing, if it is a late column with 4 way flashers and the 4 way switch is in the on position but there is no flasher for it the turn signals will not work. I won't tell you how long I spent on the side of the road with a test light trying to figure that one out.

Gl 1955 Ford customline Painless 21 circuit 10102 key in-dash It's the original column. I can take pictures of what I have if that will help. I have not tried to the key on test yet. I'm hoping that might be my answer.
I see a bit of the cheap quick connect terminals. If you followed the installation manual and your confident in that. I'd probably probe and make sure you have good connection on everything. You have a picture of how you have the relay and bulbs wired?
If you are using LED bulbs that do not have a "pre-load" or CANBUS software, they will tell the flasher you have no bulbs or burnt out bulbs. You can add loads or buy the correct LEDs.

Did they work with the old harness? I think there are around 9 wires in the column including the horn wire, did you ID and tag them all? Ford used stripes to ID them, mine were washed out and I had to buzz them out one by one. How clear were the instructions? I used another harness and the instructions were great. Also never discount a bad bulb to drive you insane. My harness was 14 circuits, I had maybe 48 connections and still a few spare circuits. I had 1 mis-wire that was easy to find.
I haven't had a timed flasher burn out on me yet. The timed flashers also work consistently (same flash speed), I like that about them.
With my led tail lights I got a flasher specifically for leds. Worked much better than when I tried running load ballasts. Thought those ballasts were going to set something on fire lol
Dude…. Your profile indicates you are 35 years old. If true, you are WAY past the text shorthand, emoji centric method of communication of the current generation - and DECADES out of touch with the median age of this forum membership. People here will bend over backwards to help, but you need to put some effort into clear communication. Your initial posts are so ambiguous that you look like a troll. You might as well be asking “how long is a piece of string” or “how high is up”…. I recommend that if you really want help you provide a schematic of your installation or provide VERY SPECIFIC descriptions of where you modified the stock system architecture. And above all, type actual words in a pattern that resembles a normal sentence structure!
The OP hasn’t been on since his last post. It’s even odds at best whether he’ll be back. You’re right about needing details to be able to troubleshoot issues. I’m guessing that he is posting from a phone and half of the clarity problems stem from autofill/autocorrect. In my experience, the break between people who write with standard sentence structure and those who write in text shorthand lands around 40 years old.
I had the same problem on my '40 Plymouth. Have incandescent front turn bulbs, LED rear. Got a solid state flasher but that didn't work either. Finally spliced in a 5ohm resistor to ground in the circuit on both rear brake lights and it works.
