I used this shit to restore the brake pedal. It’s been on the car since my dad built it in the late ‘50s
More dash details. I have an idea on how I wanted the fire wall to end up. Sometimes a hair brain idea could or couldn’t work out.
Are you intending to use silicone brake fluid? If so, that brake switch may only last a little while. Many have used a unit from Harley Davidson that apparently works with Dot 5. I went thru three units on my 37 while I had it but switched to a manual electric switch on the 31.
No just going to run dot 3. I may go to a mechanical switch on the pedal. I noticed that hydraulic switches are slow to react or that switch does.
I would definitely fit the mechanical switch. I started with a hydraulic switch and Dot 5 fluid on my 32-5 window as it was easier to fit but after 2 trips I changed to a mechanical switch. Apparently the brake lights were only on when I had my foot hard on the pedal. Got rear ended before I changed the switch, luckily no major damage. Thank God for those plastic bumpers on modern cars. Only had to re-spray the spreader bar.
Yup, that’s what I noticed, the hydraulic switch was put on during the first build 20+ years ago. I’ll pull it and plug it next week prior to filling and bleeding. I want to get that done before the body arrives. Yay!
Actually there is a 12 year old neighbor kid into recycling scored it for me. Part of a surplus haul.
