This reminds me of my neighborhood as a kid..lots of people getting cars ready for the weekend at Detroit Dragway or cruising Telegraph…

 

So Doug’s place was in the next city over from where I grew up..and you could run your car to his place to get a “Doug Nash Tune Up” for $49.95 plus parts…

Very interesting about your Doug Nash post,,,,,,I have one of his units in my Challenger .
It’s a racing 5 speed,,,,,really well designed and built piece,,,,very reliable .
I met a few guys over the years that had worked for him in Franklin , Tennessee .
One guy was a toolmaker,,,,,and later I worked with a guy that had worked in the lab at Nash .
Both knew him well and personally .
Some really funny stories from them,,,,they both thought very highly of him though .
Everything I have ever heard about him was ,,he was a good guy !

Engine,trans,and entire front clip from 95 Mark 8 Lincoln,Mark8 4 spd o/d auto trans,frame cut off at firewall Lincoln frame rails welded in place of 55 Ford frame—-power steering,hydro loc power 99 Mustang GT disc brakes,factory sway bar,factory rack pinion steering,Mustang 17 x 8 wheels.Looks like a stock 55 Ford,drives,handles like a 95 Lincoln. Daily driver,decently fast 290 h.p. DOHC all aluminum v8(square engine 4.6–bore,stroke same,)10 to 1 compression,stock redline 5900 rpm.
