Thanks guys, no it's not staying this color..the color looks ok in pics but in person it's like babyshit color haha
Making some progress! I'm throwing thr car together to put it in a local car show Saturday as under construction.
Another car show today! Unfortunately the Ranchero didn't make it all the way home under its own power. Had a friend come help that wasn't too far and ended up flat towing it back..a plugged fuel filter was the issue. I guess the car wants more attention!
The gas tank is one of the first things I got for my Ford. The old one must have been plugged up for years, the brass float turned to powder when I took the sending unit out.
Yeah, a neglected fuel tank is one of those "outa sight, outa mind" thangs that'll bite ya when ya least expect it...
I just saw this thread for the first time. You're doing a great job saving that 'chero!! It won't be long until you're doing the 500 milers like I did this weekend. I assume you are aware of www.57fordsforever.com
Drove her around couple days ago, another sump run and ran some errands..came to the realization it is not ready for daily driving LOL I still have alot left to do mechanically.
I recently shot it with some rustoleum turbo cans red oxide primer..had to do something with it. Lately I've been sorta discouraged with the car..my sheetmetal work on the quarters was very butchered and quickly done..not sure what to do with the car anymore. It needs a bunch more stuff til it's better to drive.
Make it dependable enough to be a daily, just jump in and Go. Hey, everyone Needs a truck sometime! ,
Just jumped on board here, You don't need me to tell You that,,, This is a special edition, no matter wear and tear. You have done good by it, and have a busy life. Any direction you go is good just keep on keepin' on. NICE'
To quote an old cliche: "Every thing is neater when your cruisin' in a beater!" Your Rancho is is a really cool driver that you don't have to worry about. Parking lot dingys? Who cares! Rock chips? So what? Drive it & enjoy it! Hell, I would!
Well partly sad to say the ol girl went down the road today. Got the bug for another car, threw it up on Facebook and a friend of mine made me an offer I couldn't refuse..but don't worry I already bought another car that is waaay cooler to replace it. My friend that bought the Ranchero will take it to the next level.
