So now, it gets removed, finished and painted…clips installed, then final mounting. I didn’t want to drill holes in the firewall for clips to keep it from vibrating, so I made this bracket.
Just need to plumb out to rear wheel cyls and the brake plumbing is done! I also built a battery box for under the passenger floor, it may create a challenge with the exhaust, but I’m sure it’s nothing I can’t handle… Thanks for checkin’ in fellas!
Aren’t ya kinda asking for it by putting the brake T directly under the spring clamp? Looks like they will meet on a hard bump. Also I gotta say I’ve never seen short lengths of hard line out of a wheel cylinder, then connected to the hose. What is going to support those joints hanging in mid air and getting yanked on by the hose?
The brake hoses should be replaced with ones with the correct ends to eliminate the short hard lines. There will be flex pressure on those short pieces and eventually they will work harden and snap. Your project is great and you don't want a brake failure to cause an accident.
Hey @Piewagn , this is how you get @Mart attention. Cool project you have there and good on you helping out. We'll be watching
If you see the shot with my finger to the backing plate, that's where bracket will be going to secure the hard lines. Not one for playing twister trying to remove wheel cylinders...
Now I’ll make a “U” bolt or a type of strap to secure it… Like I said, I’m not one for playing twister to remove wheel cylinders…
This is what the H.A.M.B. Is all about helping each other out. Kudos to you Piewagn and the weed eater string is a nice tip. Frank
Thank you Dean! For the most part, it will have a mostly outwardly stock appearance, but with that ageless flathead V8 rumble… Thanks for checkin’ in Dean!!
