I've been collecting parts for several years to build a '30 Model A coupe. I basically started with a truckload of Model A parts salvaged from behind a barn. The parts included two coupe body sides, a really rusty cowl section with a door still attached, and a few other parts. I've been trying to locate a cowl section that still had the front subframe extensions that weren't rotted away. I recently found one that looked pretty workable but it's either a truck or sedan cowl because the top of the A pillar is 4" from the top of the upper door hinge. That's it for the back story. The big question is, can a truck or sedan cowl section be modified for a coupe by simply removing 1" from the A pillar between the top of the A pillar and the top of the upper door hinge? I was hoping sloppy jalopies would chime in, he's been a big help in the past. Thanks.
My coupe body is from 17 different model A bodies. I built the body with a 4" chop. My rigjt side A pillar is from @KevinLee and I don't remember if it was sedan or coupe. https://jdsweet33.tripod.com/ Some crappy build pics.
That's what I'm talkin about. You give me hope. I thought I was starting with a pile of scrap metal and I probably am but I see now that it can be done.
The only cowls that have a header like that, that I know of are 1928-1929 Closed-Cab trucks. They are like that because they use 1927-1928 Model T doors.
