Does your Moon tank have an engraved label on the front of it, for a birthday or anniversary date? Can't remember if that is yours, or another vehicle. I need to get out to the track more... starting to forget stuff.

Agree with the above that you don't necessarily need a Moon tank on a street car. The plans for the one I built above are simpler. Run the vehicle at the track off the Moon tank on alky, but drive it to the track on gas from the normal tank. Will involve being very confident in how to change tune from gas to methanol, but I figure that in itself will be a good education.

    Cheers,
    Harv

Yep. My wife snuck out with it and had it engraved for my 60th birthday. 7 years ago, time flies.
    I've entered for Mildura nostalgias.

My moon tank fit under hood. I do like them out front. Problem was it did not hold much fuel.

I'd put bourbon in mine, and run a hose into the car, with a valve, so I could fill my shot glass :D:p

Just put a washer pump in the hose with a button on the steering wheel. Point the hose toward your mouth and mash the button!

I was lucky enough to live in Texas when you could still "Drink and Drive", but don't "Drive Drunk". I had my Insurance agent driving me in a car, with long neck beers, explaining to me I was high risk being under 25yr old.

Kellers famous Burgers & Beer, had thru the drive thru window. Flop down tailgate and enjoy lunch.

Story time.... I've told about helping my fire chief build his 1972 corvette, it's pure of topic, LS, 5 speed, road course car. Then his house burnt, so he stopped on the vette. What I didn't talk about was the engine that was in the vette when he brought it home. It's a .060 350, dome pistons, 186 heads with 2.02 valves, etc... we took it apart and it was new, someone had built it, but never ran it. I took the block, heads, and crank to the machine shop. Jamie went through the heads, checked the crank, and freshened up the block. Mike put it together, with a lunati voodoo cam, it has an edelbrock intake and a 750 Holley on it. When I was messing with the old blue truck, I asked him to sell me this engine, and he laughed, told me it's not for sale. It has been sitting in his shop, on my engine dolly for a little over a year. Well last night he texted me, asking about the wagon. I told him I tore the 350 down, told him what my plans are, and told him to be on the lookout for some double hump heads, or even vortec heads. He started sending me links to heads for sale, then around 11pm he asked if I've already ordered parts for the small block, and I said no. This morning I get to work at the station, fire tones are going crazy because the storm came through, somebody hydroplaned on the interstate and flipped their car, and lightning struck a couple of houses, so we had to deal with those. When the smoke cleared (no pun intended) my battalion chief said to report to station 2 for a shift meeting. When I got to Central Station I dropped by Chief's office just to say hey before I went into the meeting, well, he looked at me and said "Lloyd, I love you man, and I appreciate everything you do here" I laughed and said I love you too chief. Then he said come get the small block in my garage, I want you to have it for all you've done for me. I just about fell down! The man just gave me what's basically an LT1 350! I told him he doesn't need to do that, and he said I know that, but I want you to have it, for this 55 wagon. He said that he feels like that's where it belongs. So... the wagon now has a brand new engine. Talk about a boost. And he'll never see this, but I can't express how good Chief Mosbey has been to me, and the entire group of fireman in my department. He's a good man.

I had a 55 green sedan delivery that Dallas Independent School District on the doors. I put 55 Nomad 1/4 on it to get wheel openings I wanted this was way back in 1967.

When was younger I built a 350 to LT1 specs except for a hydraulic cam for a 72 Camaro I had, that motor was a blast and ran as my dad would say" like a stripped ass ape ". Never really knew what that phrase meant.
You'll have fun with that Lloyd, happy for you.

So I have everything to put the 4 speed in the car. Flywheel, clutch, etc... looks like i can pressure wash under the hood, do some flashy painting under there, and go ahead and install the engine/ trans combo! Ain't got no brakes though, ain't got no driveshaft, but bygod I've got an engine
