Okay, that’s not entirely clear in the opening post, even if I reread it.
And yes, the concern for Pete is understandable under the circumstances.

Hope Pete is well and good. If he was on FB a few days ago I would think everything is ok.

Treat people the way you would like to be treated...... it costs you nothing to be kind.

He might not do them until he gets some more, he’s mentioned before and maybe it was here, that he does them in batches.

That thread did give me a comprehensive list of people to never interact with.

Had the pleasure of saying hi and shaking Pete’s hand at Pete&Jakes open house a few weeks ago. Seemed very healthy. Maybe just a busy guy.

Amen. A part of the 30's, 40's and 50's culture that I appreciate is that you get the world you build.

A little humility never hurts. I've been schooled by men who could not read, and by my own kids.

    Cheers,

Many tried to defend him, and it was a sad day when Pete Eastwood turned away from us here.
An open mind and the ability to learn breaks the shackles of ignorance. Pete has much to pass on....

I have told the story many many times , when I purchased my 32 , I had a couple of frame measurement questions . I some how got his phone number , I called and explained I needed help . He talked to me and helped as if I had know him all my life . Probably on the phone for 45 mins . Now this is the explanation of an outstanding person . Thanks again , Pete . Your a top shelf person .

Probably the best part of my job is I learn something new everyday. People must be willing to learn, and by reading that thread he is a great teacher. I know a lot about a lot of different things but I do not know everything about anything.

Sadly society has lost the ability to have a discussion without hurling insults.

Pete was quite an asset to this site. I admire all he has done in the hot rod world. It was sad to see him go, but hope he does comes back someday.

Guys, I wasn't worried about his health I talked to him at the P&J"s open house and the LARS. I just get worried something might have happened that he didn't find the check or it and the headlight bar got porch pirated off his porch? In this area there's been a lot of check washing going on and it can get messy.

How many times have you discovered that a procedure or process you have used for years is wrong?,that there is a better method. 20 some years ago my employer had a class put on by Timken Bearings. I came away with two new things. 1. I knew not to heat an open bearing above 250 degrees f I thought it affected the heat treatment nope heating an open bearing for installation above 235 f IIRC may cause the bearing to not return to original dimensions. 2. The instructor asked us how many use a brass punch to install bearing when heat can’t be used, most if not all raised their hands Wrong - through researching failures Timken found a fair amount of failures due to a small brass shaving between the race and shaft he told us to use a normal punch or drift, it won’t hurt the race. Huh and da That was a very profound moment for me I’d installed hundreds probably thousands of bearings and yes some failed prematurely. A person should learn something everyday! and if your mind is not open you will learn nothing!

I'm going to look at this from a positive side, maybe Pete is busy with that Stutz look alike or finishing his RAJO dirt car, I really miss the progress photos.

  25. It is unfortunate PeteE won't post here anymore but understand. Similarly I have heard from a few people that were once regulars and frequent contributors on why they no longer post on the HAMB, it is the same/similar reasons, it's a shame as the HAMB is such an incredible place/resource. With the ease of posting to IG/FB has contributed to syphoning members away. I take breaks here and there but always comeback as the HAMB has given me so much.

I had him do a 32 bar for me a while back, took a while but I was in no hurry, is really was worth the wait, I messaged him thru here and he got back to me after a short while, I think he lurks on here occasionally

I've never seen the setup for dropping '32 headlight bars, but would think doing six at a time or whatever, would be a better use of time than doing them one at a time.

Kindness, grace, and tolerance are in short supply, especially on the Internet.
Lucky for us our leaders get it, another of the many reasons this site is iconic.

Somebody should show him this, so he sees that he is missed and respected by most of us.
