Based on the latest post from the Instagram account and how it’s worded I would think she’s got control of the account.

 

Probably right. I don't think Gene is tech savy.

 

There had been some question as to whether Genes son was posting the “froze” account announcement , I think it’s still her. That’s why I bothered posting it.

 

She's trying to do major damage control, from what it looks like to me.

Anyone seen/heard any updates on Gene?

The woman who was involved in the issues posted something on Instagram the other day that she was "missing her friend" but the comments were disabled....

 

Ian Rousel and his wife did a live stream from their new shop yesterday. They mentioned they had a visit with Gene who was in the area to pickup some things he had stored. They said he looked good and seemed in good spirits and that was all they were going to say.

Hopefully, that woman has an ankle bracelet. Also, she probably has a no contact order from the judge. That would also include any social media affecting Gene. She’s also tampering with evidence. Hopefully someone will notify the court that she may be violating the conditions of her bond. Lock her up!!!!

Anybody that knows Gene knows he loves his women. She is probably giving him just enough of what he wants to take what she wants. It’s a very sad situation but someone has to step in or Gene needs to stop it himself.

 

It’s my understanding that he no longer has anything to do with this instagram page. I have a few friends that are close to him. @genewinfield_official is his new instagram page. MLA is not part of this one.

I texted with MLA today. She tells me that the police report proves her innocence and the charges were dropped. I am the type of person that does not like to be lied to, and don’t care for gossip. I plan to look up the report myself. Has that police report of the “incident” been posted here on the HAMB? Can anyone tell me the date and jurisdiction? I can look it up myself. On one hand, I want to prove her right or wrong. On the other hand, I don’t really care enough if she is right or wrong. I might search this all out tomorrow. All I know is that I care about Gene Winfield, and I like to see all the facts to determine my own truth.

 

This is a newspaper article from the Powell Tribune, a publication local to the incident. I am neutral as to whether she she abused him. This tells me the charges were dropped because It was impossible to prove. This does not prove her innocence, but does say that Gene denied any abuse. She told me she was trying to get him to the toilet, before he shit his pants. No way to prove that.

In early July, a California woman was arrested at the Cody rodeo grounds on allegations that she’d physically abused a 97-year-old man.
Park County prosecutors initially charged Michael LeAnn Winkle, 47, with a felony count of abusing a vulnerable adult and a misdemeanor count of domestic battery. Last week, however, they agreed to reduce the case to a single misdemeanor count of breach of peace. And under a deferred prosecution agreement, the case will ultimately be dismissed if Winkle can successfully complete six months of unsupervised probation.
While he didn’t go into details, Deputy Park County Prosecuting Attorney Larry Eichele indicated that he offered the deal because of the difficulty of proving the allegations. For one thing, both Winkle and the alleged victim had denied that there had been any abuse.
The case had drawn attention among auto aficionados because the victim in the case is Robert “Gene” Winfield — one of the country’s most famous auto customizers. While the California resident might not be a household name, his work has appeared in a slew of well-known movies and TV shows. For example, Winfield designed two dozen vehicles for the 1982 sci-fi classic “Blade Runner” and a shuttle for the original Star Trek series.
Winkle told police that she’d been serving as Winfield’s paid caretaker and she’d been managing his heavily followed social media accounts. On July 3, she posted a video to Winfield’s Instagram account that showed them traveling through Yellowstone National Park and the North Fork area. The beautiful scenery “does the soul some good,” Winkle wrote, though the following day, she also said she was “exhausted” and had “way more than I can handle.”
It was on the night of July 5 that police were summoned to Cody Stampede rodeo grounds. A caller reported that an intoxicated woman — later identified as Winkle — was “hitting and shoving an elderly male who was in a motorized scooter,” Officer Tanner Wichern wrote in an affidavit.
The caller later told police that he’d seen Winkle “yelling at Winfield to hurry the f— up and shoving him in the shoulder and neck area,” the affidavit says.
When police arrived at Winkle and Winfield’s camper in the rodeo grounds parking lot, Winkle denied there had been any kind of fight and seemed “baffled” by the accusation; she also appeared to be “highly intoxicated,” Officer Wichern wrote.
As for Winfield, he “insisted everything was fine,” the affidavit says. The document quotes Winfield as saying that Winkle “was just playing around and she was beating on me, but it’s no real problem.”
The eyewitness, however, told police that the incident did not appear to be fun or playful. Additionally, officers noted Winfield had red marks and a small wound on his head that seemed consistent with the witness’s account. Wichern also observed older bruises, including some that appeared to have been covered with flesh-colored makeup.
Winkle reported that the man had accidentally hurt himself, while he reportedly described the bruises as coming from a "domestic incident,” the affidavit alleges.
Police — who described the camper as being in “a cluttered and disheveled state” — arranged for Winfield to be taken to Cody Regional Health. A doctor there “tentatively agreed” that the elderly man appeared to fit the legal definition of a vulnerable adult, the affidavit says; he was later sent to Billings for further medical treatment.
As for Winkle, she was arrested. A portable breath sample put her blood alcohol content at 0.23%, which is nearly three times the level at which a person is considered too impaired to drive….

My only concern here is to see the facts. I see this as inconclusive evidence, and I feel we will never know. The fact is that she was plastered drunk, and not thinking clearly. Something happened, but I’m not sure of the extent.

 

When my wife had caretakers for my MIL they came from a local business that uses a carefully vetted staff. I suspect Gene fell victim to a pretty face that showed him some attention rather than someone with his well being in mind.
It’s a sad state of affairs.

The fact that she is still posting on the other one supposedly on his behalf is odd....perhaps she is still collecting money for merch orders and trying to keep things going on that front. I reached out to his current IG for clarification

All this is so sad that old people have to go through this kind of shit. Same kind of thing happened to Grocho Marx.

 

The district attorney dropping charges doesn't surprise me.

I was assaulted by my ex, complete with marks and blood down my arms, my chest a very nice dark cherry red from her swinging at me, my arms bent straight up at the elbows, hands protecting my face. The marks on my arms from all of her rings as her fists hit my chest, sheriff's show up and arrest her.

Local d.a. drops charges for lack of evidence even thought the police dept took many pics.

3 weeks later she's arrested again, charges dropped, 2 weeks later again, charges dropped, 4th time was 3 weeks later. Again I never touched her while she hit me. They had to arrest both of us due to statute.

2 weeks later I'm charged with domestic violence, another 2 weeks before they charge her. I show up at court hearing and it goes to trial, her "witnesses" no show although I sat at court from 9 am until 3 pm "incase" witnesses show up. I get 3 yrs unsupervised probation.

Her court date shows up. I get there at 9 am, hearing at 9:30. She no shows, 10:15 her case is dropped and dismissed.

4 police officers offered to take the witness stand for me, they couldn't believe she had never been charged before with the reports they filed along with the pictures...

So can I believe she abused him and got the charges dropped ? You bet I can....

A friend at work told us about his buddy that had to go to therapy for some reason or another. His buddy started banging the therapist and after a few weeks, he got tired of her and told her he didn't want to see her any more. She gets mad and calls the cops and says he assaulted her. The cops arrested him and it took 6 months before the charges were dropped. Mean while, he couldn't go back to his own house for the 6 months.

 

If you dig deeper, MLA has a previous assault charge and restraining order from an incident with an ex of hers.
