I recently acquired this car in Georgia and am wondering if anyone knows its history? Chop and section are fairly well done and seem to have been done a long time ago, it was recently placed on a newer chassis by the previous owner. Unfortunately.
Hmm, me thinks that another chassis swap is in the offing. However the current chassis could be utilized for purposes of moving the vehicle around during restoration.
Agreed,it was shortened to the correct wheelbase,but the body is just sitting on it and not properly placed which is why the wheels look off.
What the welds look like on the back side, and what fillers were used on the section lines, would help nail down a build date, if no history on it comes to light. I agree with J. A. Miller above, I can see potential, it's got nice lines. But it'll be a big project. It could definitely be worth it though, I like it, and a ton of work has already been done.
Pretty sure the taillights are 67-68 Mercury cougar with the grilles removed. Possibly 64-66 Thunderbird, but the slightly pointed ends look Cougar to me.
Dropped straight down, lake pipes deleted, wheel base fixed. Added skirts on one shot and for grins color and caps real quick i think it needs some good blade shaped bumpers like the profile a 64 mustang bumper has? And some trim around the tail lights turned exhaust. Maybe stock works? If not I’d look at mid 50’s front marker light trim or maybe something off an olds?
I have asked Ryan this in the past, there is no getting around it.... I will just have to tell everyone one person at a time

I'm also in GA. Not a car I've seen before. Do you know what the donor chassis was from? Wondering if the floors may be from the car that donated the chassis. Most of the shoeboxes around here died from floors rusting out.
It was on the original chassis up until a few months ago,it’s now on a shortened s10 chassis but the floors are still intact,they were patched up but mostly original
Haven't seen it before. But if it was a south GA car I wouldn't have. Any idea what town in south GA?
No idea, apparently it had a name down the side and was used as a sign for a shop for the last few years.atleast that’s what I was told.
I hate it when businesses do that. I regularly see $50-$100k cars used as signs and never move here in the Atlanta area. Such a waste. Insurance companies are especially bad about that.
