Looks great! If you wouldn’t mind can you take photos of attaching the subrails to the bottom of the quarter? I’m always trying to see how that section is supposed to go together but I either find upholstered cars that I can’t see it in or cars where it’s rotted away lol

The floor and the body are now one. The firewall is in place and now I’m working on the dash and seat placement.

    More intake updates.
I decided to go with Stromberg big 97s instead of the old style Strombergs. I’m curious how these big ones will compare to the dual quads.

Floor is done and seats are mounted. These seats will get reupholstered in an early hot rod style. Most likely black and white tuck and roll.

My car has had three different fuel fill locations over the years. None of the three worked with where we want to put the fuel tank, so they all got welded up. The 1935 Ford dash has also been narrowed and fit to the car. Now it’s time to fit the new (vintage) gauge cluster in place. IMG_1261.jpeg IMG_1263.jpeg IMG_1262.jpeg IMG_1260.jpeg

I bought it. I found this one on marketplace but they are available through vendors like Speedway Motors and Jegs.

I decided to use a 1935 dash. We had to narrow it and do some reshaping to make it fit but I’m really loving the look.

Back at it after a weekend on the salt. Bonneville Speed Week was still fun but it wasn’t the same without my car. IMG_1445.jpeg IMG_1448.jpeg IMG_1444.jpeg

Todays progress as of lunchtime. The seats are mounted and with 4” out of the roof I’ve still got plenty of headroom. I’m 6’2”.

The machine shop has things back together and we are now mounting the real Hemi to build headers and make sure that all the little brackets and mounts fit together correctly. so far things are coming together nicely.

IMG_1852.jpeg IMG_1850.jpeg IMG_1856.jpeg IMG_1855.jpeg IMG_1858.jpeg Another productive day introducing the vintage Hemi to its new home in the chassis. The foam block was slightly different so I’m really glad that we only tacked the motor mounts to the frame. Everything was measured, leveled and welded into place. Next we’ll get going on the exhaust, hoses, brackets and linkages. Every day is one step closer to putting this car back on the road! I decided to install a roll down rear window kit. So far I’m less than impressed with it. The parts are fine but the instructions were horrible. We more or less just figured it out and put it is the way we thought would work best. IMG_1845.jpeg

More progress on my Model A. The 4” chop is perfect! With the low seats I’m using I’ve got plenty of room, even for a helmet. We’re getting really close to taking everything apart and sending things off for chrome and powder coat.

It works a lot like the old Volkswagen ragtop. It’s not something I’ll be sliding open and closed while driving, it takes both hands and you’ve got to tuck the fabric into the folds as it slides open but having the option for an open top is going to be great!
