upload_2024-8-16_6-43-38.png lowered to the legal limits + full tank of gas...
    Hello,

We have liked 1957 Ford Rancheros since the day one black 57 Ford rolled up in the staging lanes of Lion’s Dragstrip several cars behind us.
    upload_2024-8-16_6-44-13.png
We had seen other single color Rancheros cruising around So Cal on our road trips, but never a two toned version. They were usually single color. And yes, several were top racers at Lion’s Dragstrip,

Also… Pete McCarrol + Les Ritchey
    upload_2024-8-16_6-45-22.png
Those two Rancheros “ruled the roost…” in those early days with their centrifugal supercharged motors and driving skills. The ones we saw cruising around our Bixby Knolls cruising grounds, only had a normally carburetor version of the Ford V8.

So, as my wife and I were driving around on errands and checking out the favorite coastal sites, we happen to come upon a two-toned 57 Ford Ranchero in all of its mild custom glory. So, later on, I got on the 57 Ranchero art work project.

More power + supercharged motor, bigger tires and a rake stance to give it some attitude as we cruised to the local surf spots. You never know... YRMV

    Note:

When originally reading the Drag News byline under the photo of the 57 Ranchero, one thing popped out fast. A 321 cubic inch blown 57 Ford engine. Wow, no wonder people thought it was fast and challenged the fact. It was a misprint and should have read 312 cubic inch rated 300 h.p.

“Pete McCarroll after repeated protests was torn down under the watchful eye of J.C. Hart, found legal, and then proceeded to set a new class record at 108.51 with his 321 cu inch blown 1957 Ford Ranchero. Tuning chores for this super stock hauler are handled by L&M Automotive, Long Beach.” So, he was fast and definitely legal... despite the misprint.

I thought period modified bikes were allowed as long as they extended and are rooted in the theme of traditional hot rod and Kustom culture.

sorry I’ve been away, I was busy with work and life. I’m presently caring for my 93 year old mother (not Edna, pictured above, but just as tough) for a few days.

In honor of Loretta, my mom, I created the Loretta 3000

okay, so I named it in honor of her, she’s far classier.

Yesterday marked 20 years since my father went on to his reward. Together, their two cars are what really got me into my love for car design and esthetics. At the age of 5, I grabbed a pencil and drew my first car…
The following pics, are what the folks were driving in ‘68…

As Summer draws near its end, opportunities to cruise begin to dwindle, in honor of the dream cruise in motor city… an oldie but goody…

    Hey @Jigger
That is a great line drawing of one of my favorite, ultra cool Ford wagons. My good friend Rick Turner has one of those that is in mint condition.
I am first in line to buy it if he ever does decide to sell it.
Thanks from Dennis for posting that great drawing.

so cool , chopped and channeled. :)

  23. the grinning grille and the gun sight fender ornaments were the hook that got set in me…
other than the lowered stance and the roof rake delete, that is exactly what my mother had. I’ll trade ya my ‘69 Custom S convertible when that day comes, lol!!!

    Hey @Jigger
At my current age of 71, and if I ever get a chance to buy this wagon from Rick Turner, I am pretty sure its going to be my last ride.

Grinning to myself, this cool 60 Ford Country sedan, is more comfortable than the 69 Custom "S" convertible, but that is just my humble opinion.

These shots are what is under the hood, all stock, it even has a very original "POLAR-AIRE" AC unit rather than the usual" MARK IV" .
    Thanks from Dennis.
