Projects Another casting project , 28/29 gauge cluster

    Been thinking about this for a while. I want to use the original gauge cluster but want more gauges too.
    Made the pattern out of MDF and hardwood dowel.
    Poured it and machined it this morning. I like the fins but I'm not sure if it looks too modern or kitchy.

    That is too cool! I wonder if it would match the car better if it was sandblasted to dull it out some.

    Very cool. The photo of it in the car makes it look the best in my opinion.

    My first thought would be if you did not like the fins, maybe engine turned?

    But to make it look "older", I'd round off the ends of the fins.
    Like the fins on an old Corvette valve cover.:cool:

    I like that... have one of the standard Vertex variety at home like the one on the right.
    You making these for looks, or to fix an RF interference issue?
