Well fellows I have to reluctantly bow out of going to Lloydfest. I have decided to change jobs and I wont have the time to take off. It is a little to far to go for just the weekend. Hope you all have a great time. I will be looking forward to seeing pics from the shenanigans.

Too bad man. Maybe next year. Of course, by then, the event won't have the small show atmosphere. It'll probably have to be held at the state fair grounds to accommodate all the entrants.

  3. Cycle tech, you should have vacation time built up by next year. See you then!

Yeah I am burning up time I had at my old job right now. I missed it by a week or 2 or I could have got paid to attend Lloydfest. I just got tired of being on the road for an hour every day. Now it is 5 minutes door to door. I ran the numbers and I was losing money by staying at the old job. Even with taking a cut at first.

You should be right to hold your beer in the other hand...:D

  9. No showers. There is running water at the community center on the property, portable toilets up by the shelter house. I'll be there all day Friday. So anytime Friday and all day Saturday.

    BULLSHIT!!!
I'll open your bourbon bottle for you Enloe!

  11. 2 weeks away. I've got the shirts done, custom Kentucky bourbon barrel head trophies made, built a valve cover race track, venue prepared, food covered, and your musical entertainment this year will be none other than yours truly. I really want to thank those of you that sent me donations to put this on again. It helped my pay for the shirts and trophies. I'm hoping all of you that can, make the trip and hang out with me. I know it's hard to accomplish, but I look forward to seeing everyone that makes it out here. It's a much more accommodating venue, just no drag strip this year. So we'll improvise with our own valve cover drag race :D see you all in 2 weeks!!!

We are still on schedule to be there. Leaving Dyersville, Iowa in the morning. Spent last few days visiting The Field of Dreams and the National Farm Toy Museum. Friday and Saturday night we watched a Vintage Baseball Association playing on the Field of Dreams in vintage uniforms and using 1865 rules. It was a lot of fun, I even had a hot dog and peanuts.
From here, headed to Kentucky with quick stops in Galena, Rantoul and Casey, Illinois.
Like, Bill, I am looking forward to seeing those from last year and meeting new people. Those from last year, please forgive me if I don't remember your names. I am terrible at that.
Ron (the, I've been everywhere man)

  20. Ron, isn’t that Farm Toy Museum something else? I’ve been there twice. Neat place.

  21. I'm ready to hang out with you guys! I'm always up for chilling out and having a good time. Busting my ass to keep the shop on time and get everything ready. Get your ass out of the house and come hang out with me if you can!

  22. We can’t wait, between Bowling Green and Lloydfest, it the highlight of our year.

  23. Bill, glad to see you can make it. Looking forward to seeing you guys and all the hooligans!

I also am looking forward to seeing all of you. Will there be anything shaking on Friday (9/6/24)? i.e., what time should we start arriving? When are the rest of you arriving?

I'm trying to decide whether I should drive Thursday so we can be there all day Friday. OR, should I get up and do the 7 hour drive (plus stops) on Friday?

    Oh, yeah; another question:

Last year there was a lot of road construction on I-64 around Louisville. Is that all done? Should I find a way around it?

  26. I haven't been past Lexington for a while Mike, so I'm not sure. As for Friday, I'll be there most of the day. I know Andy is coming down Thursday, I don't know anybody else's plans.

  27. We are leaving Waterloo Illinois no later than 5 am Thursday morning. I’m pulling a trailer, so I’ll run the speed limit, no faster. I don’t have my Ram Cummins anymore, and I hate to punish my Silverado 1500 by driving faster than the speed limit.
