Folks Of Interest Where are the Original first 500 HAMBers?

I'm #13... joined in 1999... but I think some of our numbers aren't the real order as to when we joined. There was a rebench at some point, and as I recall, it moved some folks around.

Does anyone else remember that?

Yeah the big crash was end of February beginning of March 2001, that's why the join dates are all March/April 2001 for the lower numbers

I remember those days well, I only interacted if I had a solid technical input. Which for the most part is the same case.

 

Not the first 500, but I was around in 2001, lurked & learned for a bit, had a '53 Chevy and didn't really know what I was doing with it. Kinda forgot about this place, and I couldn't even remember the name of the site. I don't even remember if Google was a thing back then, but trying to find this place was tough with the prehistoric internet we had back then, and after I found the HAMB again I reincarnated in 2003 after I bought a Model A Tudor in late 2002. #1440

Thank you. I guess I am pretty early, but mostly a lurker.

 

The cursor trick to find your number would work on a Microsoft system but it does not work on my Apple based machine. I have not been able to figure out how to do it on my system. I think I remember that I am 237 old 257. I was teaching school when the HAMB was new and we got the first computers at the school where I worked. The HAMB was one of two sites I found that had hot rod stuff and I still view both sites today. I was a little slow on the reboot and reregister. I check in here a couple of times a day but I rarely post anymore.

 

I managed to find my number which is 10561 and I joined in Dec, 2005. I spend too much time on the HAMB. Wife is always saying "get off the computer and out in the shed " She wants my latest car finished so we can do what retired people do i.e. go out for coffee and cake.
