Hi guys I have an issue that I ran into on my 1932 Ford. Is currently has a 1950 Stock v8 engine. It has ford water pumps versus the original mercury 1950 water pumps so the fit up works more closely match the 32 setup. I have a brand new 32 Walker Radiator BUT when I tried to mount the lower radiator hoses they do not line up at all and they are 2-3 inches lower than the pump outlets. I do not see how I will make the connections as the pumps and the main belt are also a clearance issue. Does any one have any suggestions or know of some one that may make an adapter to eliminate this issue Many thanks Tom
This is 8 yrs old but may help. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/flathead-lower-hose-problem.1008364/
I managed to find a hose with a tight S bend in it. Managed to cut it just right and squeezed it on. Early ‘70’s Australian ford fairlane or something odd like that. But I had a stock radiator, so maybe different to a walker one With no picture, or accurate measurements, I am only guessing that it is similar situation.
There’s a guy that offers z bend lower hoses for 32 fords on the hamb cl***ified section quite regularly. Can’t remember his name though Then you don’t have to use those gnarly castings and 8 clamps
Here you can get them: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...adiator-hoses-s-curved.1311295/#post-15170543 Auliz from Finland sell those and send them worldwide! good stuff!
Could you make hoses to contour and fit using copper tubing soldered together. Chroming is not req'd. Pumps are early Ford pickup on an 8BA with a Walker radiator in a 40 Ford. This was done 20 years ago. So far, no leaks with a pressurized system.
I grabbed that shot off our cl***ifieds but they were long sold. I did a search and couldn't find them but I did find these on epay
