Bill's Place in Pennsylvania had a small post office that was advertised as the smallest in the United States. The post office was located in the restaurant of the same name, owned by William "Bill" Wakefield, in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It opened on May 22, 1935 and closed in 1953.
I found what looks to be an uncropped version of the same image. It looks like the hose is attached to the top of the pump, and a place to store the nozzle in the side of the pump.
Very hard to say, I couldn't run one of those machines. My only concern is did the young guys come up on an 11" South Bend and all the other lathes of years ago. Guess that's progress and I'm of the past.
Also looks like where hose attaches at top swivels around so hose can be used on other side of pump as well.
