Have an opportunity to pick up these jamco tubular control arms from a guy kinda local for half-ish normal price.

Price is still kinda outside budget, but willing to take plunge if they're worth it. Thinking they may be a way to lower front end and incorporate disc brakes at some point.

Anyone have any info or running them?

    Thanks

Another thing to note, many of these places that sell arms like this won't sell the bushings etc separately nor tell you which bushings may fit. Some even use proprietary parts.

But they will sell you new arms !

Remember, JAMCO is out of business.

That's certainly a concern... price might be too high anyways. 650 is still pretty steep

Well we all find ways to justify our purchases ............ "CHEAP!" being the most common reason.

One piece of advice when starting a thread here on the HAMB. Try and volunteer some relevant information.
Some of us don't have a F****n clue what you're wanting these for [it could be a Mazda Miata for all we know]

Getting information is like "extracting teeth"

Not that it mattered then, but you could've asked if it was for a miata when you chimed in with a thread about customer service.

Jamco made parts for Miatas? Who knew?

  11. Been studying on the pics for a few days, and they appear to be for a 49-53 Ford. Jamco made that kit to use Granada spindles. Mediocre reviews when they were being made and the bushings were in-house with hard-to-find replacements.

I have these on my Merc, previous owner installed them, seems to be ok. I’ve bought things from jamco before in the past from them and they were a rude bunch, never again. I deal with shoebox central now. Very helpful and have just about the same product line. JAMCO is a bunch of jerkoffs!!!

a buddy watched while i was installing new kingpins in my shoebox, and he said, "the great thing about kingpins is, they don't break!"

Yeah, he said the PN was the 49-51s. I just can't justify the cost. I think anything I want to do the 50 setups fine. I'd rather spend the money on shockwaves.
    Thanks for the response

  15. ^^^^ The same chassis was used thru 53, so they will fit. I looked into these for my 53 but went with dropped spindles instead with a camber kit and Aerostar springs. Stock bushings easily found.

That's kinda where I am. If it gets difficult to repair, or I just get sick of it trying to source parts, I'll probably just subframe it.

  17. Shoebox Central will have everything you need to lower the front end and add disc brakes.
