Haha, I didn't get mine judged but a number of people there told me they really liked it. And a guy that is an expert on 61's told me something I kinda already knew. My car was born a fuel injected car. He pointed out 2 bolts on the drivers fender lip that held the FI air cleaner and that the washer bottle is mounted on the passenger side inner fender...

  4. One of the best quotes I ever heard was about 20 years ago at a vintage drag race the track was a pair of blacktop strips in a corn field with silos next to the starting line, a guy was hammering a 1957 283 horse Corvette.

He was the first owner and the fourth owner, when people asked him about running the car so hard he said

"I am a Chevy guy not a Corvette guy!"

I have a buddy like that. he had a clapped out 65 or so Vette race car that had been racing since day one and pointed out all these small details that showed what it was when it was new. I guess at one time it was pretty special... not so much anymore

I helped a friend once prep his 65 big block coupe for a NCRS Duntov judging. Talk about anal retentive! I'd much rather own to go have fun with.

Sorry that cotter pin is facing the wrong way, I have to dock you 2 points! The guy on the line that put it in was left handed.:p:D

I am one of the original NCRS members #71 and while the main theme is to restore the car’s back to as delivered spec in recent years it has been opened up to display modified Corvettes of all kinds especially vintage race cars. You know kind of like this traditional forum. I have a 57 I have had for 52 years along with a 32 Ford Coupe I am building as a traditional hot rod. So there is room for all.
