  1. Thank you for the help man! The dash plaques are iconic, and I have a few left from this year, and last year. It was cool seeing you and Jessie pull in with that 49!!! I damn near broke down, knowing the story behind that car. Look forward to seeing you my brother, and I'll have my 55 wagon at hoodlums next year

Thanks for all the work you did Lloyd.
Your music set was super and your cooking was delicious.
I had a great time visiting with everyone and the drive was beautiful!
Also a big Thank you to @chevy57dude for giving me a ride in his hot rod. Now I know what a NASA astronaut feels like at blast-off! Thanks Steve!
Mike @50chevytx also let me wheel his sweet stovebolt Chevy around a bit, although I didn't flog on it enough for him LOL!

  3. Thank you for showing up big guy! Wouldn't be the same without you.

Just walked in the door and look what my first act is. Here checking out what everyone had to say.

Thanks for putting on this shindig. I'm so glad to have a rod to drive this year. I felt so out of place last year hanging out with you folks driving your hot rods and I was in a dd car.

Btw, as I was leaving this morning my brake peddle started getting squishy. Pulled into the park where Randy and Mike were bs-ing. Grabbed a bottle of brake fluid from the store next door and topped off the MC. Brakes came back to normal but I couldn't have done it without their help and tools. THANKS GUYS!!!!

  5. Glad to hear you're home safe buddy. Hope you and Sherry had a good time, it was great seeing you here in your panel!!!

I learned a lot of folks' real names this year but don't have hamb handles to go with most of you. I'd really appreciate it if you PM'd me filling me in. OR if you don't mind the whole world knowing just post here.

Note: Lloyd, we all know your handle. Thanks one more time for putting this on.

We had a ball. Sherry did a lot more socializing this year. She made some friends that she'll want to see again next year.

I can now name everyone in this pic; well, real (first) names anyway. What a great dinner.

  10. Yes she seemed to enjoy herself, and by the way, I'm "the man" lol

  13. @Lloyd's paint & glass ....Laura is chomping at the bit telling me that she should have been able to edit the group picture! LOL I keep telling her that candid shots don't need to be edited!!!!

ALL you car guys out there, think about this......Laura's daughter Julia is married to a guy who doesn't know much about our hobby, but is a Christian man who bends over backwards to take care of his wife & new son. He is however interested in our hobby & after taking a ride with me in Stubby yesterday is interested in buying an "On Topic" pickup Long wheelbase so he can use it. He wants a stick shift truck that looks great so he can fit in with our group!!!!! I am steering him towards a mid 60's Chevy 1/2 ton long bed he can use , yet also take it to a cruise & not feel like he does not belong. He & my "married into Grandson " are pictured below! I will also add that He & My Step Daughter were treated like royalty when they came out to Lloydfest! Just an amazing, great bunch of folks that welcome everyone who attends!!!!

    God Bless
    Bill

  14. Hey Brother, just walked in the door. As we were crossing into Indiana from Kentucky, the left rear spindle nut lock on my trailer failed and the wheel and hub walked half way off the spindle when I caught it and immediately pulled over on the side of I-64. The center cap on the wheel caught the outer bearing, bearing washer, what was left of the nut and the cheapshit tin locking device. The spindle is shot, the hub is trashed, but I was able to hammer the outer bearing back on the spindle and held it in place with Vise Grips. The next exit had a Home Depot and I was able to hammer the spindle nut back on, the threads are nonexistent, and held the spindle nut on with 3 1/4” fender washers and a 1/4-28” bolt and jamb nut threaded in through the grease fitting hole on the end of the spindle. This got us the remaining 175 miles home at 55 mph.
Lloyd, thank you for having us, we all had a wonderful time. Lloydfest has been the highlight of my summer!! We can’t wait to come back next year, we talked about next year half the way home!!

There are a few times a year that I seriously regret living on the west coast, Lloyd fest is one of them. I hate missing good parties and it looks like I missed another one! Glad you hoodlums had fun and returned home safe. Maybe one of these moons I can make it to one. Well done @Lloyd's paint & glass , well done indeed.

  16. Billy, trust me, it’s worth the flight out here. It would be great to meet you and hang out. If you flew into Lexington, I’m sure one of us will pick you up and drive you around and get you back to the airport. You won’t regret it!

Well, damn! I had the high-speed valve cover racer ready but pan gasket and coolant leaks on Alyn's car kept us home this year. The '48 coupe isn't up to a long trip yet, so it got some much-needed attention. I do wish we could have been there and seen all of you. Next year for sure.

To all you folks that brought your wives and/or girlfriends (you should never bring both of them at the same time):

Sherry met and chatted with all of the ladies that were there. Please tell them that Sherry enjoyed all the friendship she received from them and is looking forward to seeing them at Lloydfest 2025.

  25. I had a blast myself, from Thursday night, until today actually, because I went to the park to check the grounds and latch the gate, but low and behold, Bill and Laura was there loading, so I got to hang out with them some more!! Thanks to you all for coming, I like the park better than the drag strip, so I'm gonna stick with that location. You repeat offenders already know how to get here lol. I was happy with the turnout, we had a few that didn't make it back this year, but we had more than last year. Hopefully the prizes were acceptable, the food, and the entertainment lol. September 5th and 6th, 2025. See you folks then
