The light blue car has the ‘46 parking lights over the grille and the Tudor on the trailer has the two pieces of trim on the deck lid that the ‘46 had also, so yes I agree @bobbytnm , they are the first.

  7. ANY new car was a big deal after WW II. No civilian auto production for four years left the public salivating for anything! Also, new model year unveiling was highly publicized and hyped until about the mid-seventies (as cars and model years started to melt into a big blob), so that scene was repeated for many years.

  8. What he said^^^^^^^ New cars were a big deal until the 70's. Now they just show up. I remember standing with my Dad and watching the new ones being delivered. Lots of times it brought the whole town out. Small towns of course. Today the only thing special about a new car delivery is maybe a new Vette, Mustang, etc, and that's only if the dealer does a promotion. Not much excitement now days.

Look at the octane rating on that pump. Puts our gripes about modern gas in perspective.

Bob Sullivan was hanging out with some friends and the conversation turned to putting Bob’s fuel 392 into his ‘65 Barracuda. Sullivan was a chassis builder and campaigned dragsters with the Pandemonium name which surely fit. The car ran mid 8’s and 160+ mph.
