I’d purchase that guy a real nice shelf to put all his stuff on if he’d give me the car in exchange.

That is still a very buildable cuda. Since you can buy new body shells, doors, deck lid, and front fenders.

Might still be buildable, but unless it was something rare or had special options, your going to have more in it then its worth, unless you can do everything yourself.

I saw a Plum Crazy 71 Cuda go for $5k about a dozen years ago and it was in worse shape than that one. Rusty, no engine or trans, no interior, no front fenders or hood, basically a shell.

I buy rusted out pieces of crap and fix them up too, but I'm not paying 5G for them, and what I'm buying are not the performance era cars.

A lot of the guys that own that era of cars were pricks 30 years ago, and have not gotten much better. They think everything has to be be perfect, fully restored, and numbers matching. That is fine if your into that, I'm not. Their attitude was exactly why I got out of the performance era cars. I actually lived through that time. What their vision of the era was isn't the reality I lived through. Maybe one out of ten kept their cars stock original, everyone else modified their cars, but these people think everything has to be restored to factory original.

Its also why I don't have a pure HAMB friendly car, the hard core HAMB guys sound a lot like the performance era guys. The cars are expected to fit perfectly into the same mode a few magazine show cars illustrated. The real cars of the era were far from perfect and covered a wide range of vehicles.

Back in the mid 80’s I was stationed at Ft Hood, TX and a close friend of mine had a Challenger RT that was identical to the brown car, same stripes and black vinyl top. It was a really nice car. He also had a green Challenger similar to the one in the background that he was turning into a dirt track car.
