Went to my friends house for help in using a router to notch out some of my wood flooring on my 32 Roadster. While we are working he tells me he has a new roommate. Says he wants to meet me to talk about old Hot Rod days gone by, so made sure I'd stay til he got home. Met Clifford Obray and he starts telling me about his father and when he use to race at the dry bed lakes down south in LA before he went to work for Douglas Aircraft's making D3's for the war.
His father was in the thick of it when Hot Rodding was starting, use to work for Hilborn as well. Cliff says "Hey! Wanna see the book with all the pictures?! Hell yes was my response and it blew my mind. Wait til you guys see these pictures that probably have never been seen in public before. Even a brass plate in last picture.
If any of you guys recognize rodders in these pictures, please chime in. Enjoy IMG_2231.jpeg IMG_2232.jpeg IMG_2233.jpeg IMG_2234.jpeg IMG_2235.jpeg

Excellent, thanks for posting. Love that fenderless 34 Cabriolet. That 32 Roadster “Aristocrat” with the custom grill and skirted fenders is interesting, early custom.

    Bulls eye. Thank you!
Sure would be nice if someone could take the time to take them out of the plastic wrap and scan them.

Excellent photos! Thank you very much for sharing. Is there any chance of getting a good scan of the number 22 car? I believe this is Duke\Jud Hallock's car which I currently own. This is a photo I hadn't seen before and seeing as many details as possible will help in the restoration. Id be happy to pay for a good scan or copy. Thanks! - Zach
