Thanks. Of all the years I lived in Orange County I never knew that.

In those days I wanted to stay as far away from a Marine base as I could get. No offense.

I'll take the 57 Olds styling over the 63 Chevy styling any day.

At a glance it looks like a scaled down 55 Chevy.

    Hello,

Every winter holiday year in the last 5 years, our granddaughter was a leading performer in a ballet troupe’s show at the Fullerton College Auditorium. The auditorium is located several blocks North of the big train station. Upon finishing the performances, we headed back to the closest freeway to get all caught up in the nighttime traffic. Yes, all lanes heading South were clogged, but we were on it anyway.

Over the years, we tried several ways to get South back to the coastal communities. So, several other surface streets were chosen. One went right near the named Fullerton, Santa Fe Station just a blocks South of the auditorium. The street that runs by headed to another, less crowded, freeway crossing and a easier drive home.

So, for years, we drove far into inland OC to attend the annual holiday Nutcracker performances and it was topped off for the last years of her teenage performances as, Clara and as the Snow Queen, as well as the Sugar Plum Fairy. Those last performances were so good, it is hard to imagine it all started as age two. Now, she has taken a long deserved break as a new college student.

Throughout the Amtrak railroad line’s history, we had gone in that Amtrak train with her dad, when he was a little kid. Our local neighbors gathered together and we all went to Los Angeles Union Station via the Amtrak. For the main stops, the train slows and actually stops for some minutes for new passengers heading North and South. Fullerton was one of the stops. From here to downtown Los Angeles Union Station was a fast ride and our destination, Olivera Street and the L.A. Children’s Museum, nearby. YRMV
