Yep, you need to get there sometime Joe! I’ll buy you dinner or something when you do. Well, that is if you want to try Murphy’s Steakhouse. Everyone that goes to Bartlesville has to try it.
I was hoping to be there and see your car in person, but alas my daughter planned her wedding in October. We are in overdrive the whole month.
Sorry you are not going to be able to make it. I've been through that twice and its a very stressful time. Will be praying for you and trust me life will get back to normal. I'm really looking forward to the run. Friday I'll be chauffeuring around my twin grandsons. We plan on watching all of them leave for the liability run and then we will hop in Herb's '39 sedan and catch up with them in Fairfax. This will be the first time they will ride in a Hot Rod. Going to be a lot of fun....
Looking forward to it! A group of us from Omaha will be coming down again - My wife and I will be in my roadster this year.
I've decided to trailer the deuce pickup, my wife is still recovering and doesn't need the abuse of riding 300 miles in the PU. We'll sneak in the back door, hide the trailer and park in the back row. I'm coming just to see Neal's car.
Sounds like a plan! Won't need to twist my arm for a good steak. I'll be happy to reciprocate if you make it out to NJ sometime
I hope you don't have high expectations, as it is just a home garage built car (with some professional metal work)...and it's missing some details due to the timeline. Next year I hope to have it in paint and a little more polished on the small details.
The whole universe is fighting me, but we're still coming. I'll be in an off topic old-man-brown dent side Ford, but I'm coming. I assume the parking lot won't care.
If my wife is able to walk again before then, there will be cookies! We cannot travel by entourage without them. We're caravanning in a group of black unibody and brown dent side starting early Friday Morning. Should be in Bartlesville before lunch.
Heck...now I have to go just for the cookies. Praying your wife will be walking again. I guess I can also bring the award we are supposed to give away Friday night that I hope to weld together this evening...
Not finished yet but I'm getting closer. Stray Kat Kustoms will be giving an award away this year to the Koolest Kustom. At least what we think is kool.. The Roc attracts a lot of Hot Rods but they do attract some Kustoms. We are looking forward to checking them out....
hands down the best selection of traditional customs I’ve ever seen at a show in person. Not a ton but what’s there is fantastic. Really enjoy this aspect of the event
I remember the first year where there was maybe one or two customs? The number and quality has definitely gone up and I am guessing Mick had something to do with it.
Wifey and I are ready to head out Thursday morning. This will be the furthest I've driven our flatty powered 34 sedan. I'm getting pretty excited, this is our first year.
Oh man! Will miss seeing you Dan! If all goes well tonight getting the brakes back working, I'll have this old Impala I found there.....
I really wanted to go to this this year, we were all set to book flights and stuff from the UK, but my wifes work got hectic, no holiday. Really bummed, I keep seeing stuff about this, the cars that are going, would love to be there. Hopefully next year.
Some great looking awards! Hope all of you have a great time! Boys and I are headed to Boerne TX this weekend for Run to the Hills show, been on my bucket list for a long time. Take care!
