Coming up this weekend. I'm planning to take me 62 corvette. It's going to be pretty hot, over 100. I kinda want to drive out to LA and drive with the group to Tucson, but it's going to be pretty hot across the desert.

Anyways, see you there if you can make it.

  2. Jim, have you done anything with the engine to improve the performance of the Corvette? HRP

I did, but then I took all that stuff out and put it back to stock! so it should go slow. I'm working on a new plan of attack to make it go faster, but it might take a little while.

well...small blocks, for now. I picked up a .060 over 350 block and a .020 under steel 350 crank today, and a few other parts. We'll see what happens.

DF's fb page shows leaving Irwindale at 6:30 Friday morning to drive to Tucson.

I'm leaning towards braving the nice warm 110 Phoenix weather, and driving out there Thursday. Really dumb thing to do.

Gorilla Tape is what duct tape was like when I was growing up in the '60s.

We are heading down Saturday morning. Going to pass driving the 52 Dodge, no AC or firewall insulation. Just don’t want to cook in that crockpot cab of mine.

So the wife and I were returning from a trip to Prescott AZ today, cruising along on I-10 headed toward LA somewhere between Blythe and Chiriaco Summit we fell in behind this cool old red Corvette, and we followed along for about 10 miles admiring the car, we both were commenting about how nice those old Corvettes are. At one point we went around the car, the guy driving it had the top down, his hair blowing in the wind. As we got close I noticed the AZ license plate, then along side it I looked over at the driver and told my wife "I know that guy!". LOL! I haven't been around here, so I didn't see the posts where you said you were going this way Jim; so it was a cool surprise to see you out taking the Vette out across the desert. Hope you made it to your destination safe and sound. Have a great trip!

heh...I guess that was me! It is warm in the desert in California, the highest I saw on the weather app was 105. Probably be several degrees warmer tomorrow.

I made it to Irwindale, and got a room for the night. Traffic wasn't bad at all, I took the exit right before the cars going my way on the freeway stopped moving. At least it's not so hot here, in the 80s.
