I bent my headlight stands with a Propane Torch like you're doing and it did take forever, but it got done.

 

Propane torch for heating and bending, Hank Hill approved.

 

I like the copper wheels nice touch

 

Man alive...I had about 7 pages to catch up on! Really stoked for you Joey! I like you have dreamed of building a model a roadster on 32 rails since I was about 10 yrs old. I am collecting the pieces to bring that dream to life as well!

 

Careful now, those neighborhood kids are young and impressionable.

 

We've all started out like this, one time or another. Then comes the (I can't quit looking at it), stage.....

 

Joey....I have 3 torch set ups. I do not need 3 torch set ups. I have a set with very small bottles that would be perfect for a San Francisco size garage. I'll load them in the truck for my next drive south of you want them.

 

I wish I had known he was in need of an OA setup. I just gave away my small bottle version about 6 months ago on CL.

 

Joey, this image needs to be in a magazine or on a calendar!( imho) Great progress by the way. I always enjoy checking on your build progress. Your youthful enthusiasm for this project and this hobby is always a breath of fresh air and an inspiration to this old geezer.

 

Have you tried looking for an eye bolt the correct size?

 

That’s really all they are. If you want you could just buy a 46-8 section and then weld the spoon pad to the arm. That’s what I’m doing in the model A.

Check with FK Rod ends, they have rod ends that are not spherical, that are very similar to what you are looking for.

 

That's what Bud Bryan did for his roadster c. 1970...

I bet your motorcycle buddies have a few old motorcycle gear shift levers with the waffle pattern for grip, so your foot doesn't slip off of the traditional smooth spoon.

Just a thought, it will be interesting to see what you finally rig up!

Two male thread rod eyes will give a smoother action.

 

How did you get to be a moderator if you don't understand the timeline of either the thread or the build. This is really insulting to both Joey and to those who have been following this thread since the beginning.

@corncobcoupe , we all try to keep an eye out for each other.
It is stopping in the middle of the job, tight but not finished with all hardware.
It's also a quick QA, cotter means final torqued.
Joey explained without rancor that he's going to take it apart one more time, so no harm, no foul.

 

That body looks like an oil painting, love the way it looks!

 

When you have some spare time it would be fun to know who is using to version 1-1.5 parts so we can shout encouragement to their builds and recognize the flow cool old stuff. It is interesting how parts are gathered, used, dispersed, gathered again,............. You have a unique position to put some of it down.
