Event Coverage Duct tape Drags 2024

The blue 65 Corvair was there, it was racing, I think it ran in the beater eliminations? At the end of this video he mentions that he's going to the Duct Tape Drags "next week".

 

Just curious but how did the cooling systems hold up in that heat?

 

I was impressed, it stayed around 180 most of the time on the drive, even when it was 110 out. It did heat up some in traffic slow downs, but didn't get to 200.

I had blocked the heat crossover passages in the intake too, and didn't have any noticable fuel boiling issues, either. Although I did open the hood at almost every fuel/food stop, to let things cool off a little.

That’s good, glad you didn’t have any heating issues. I’ve heard those early Vettes had airflow issues into the rad. On an other note I’m planning a drive down your way after the 1st of the year. Maybe a possible drive by to check out your stable.
