Recent finds and buys

1962 Pep Boys catalog I found while cleaning up my dad's house. Read it cover to cover. I want a set of Astronaut tires!

 

Some of the Cornells were really light weight and went on a lot of drag stockers cars…. Many did not know this but the rubber content was the Fed Excise Tax…and that was how guys picked those light weight fronts… I learned all this when working in a Sears Auto Service Center in Inglewood that was across the street from a Tres Amigos De La Pep! We listed a “leader” sales Allstate tire and they went on a lot of drag cars….

 

Although I was sure this was lost to time, I found my Boston picture album! Yay!

Didn't buy em, but I saw these sewing machines at the local thrift store yesterday. They all look to at one time built in to a table like the commercial units I've seen. 49.99 to 62.99$

 

Picked up this behemoth at a garage sale for $40. Heck it's just worth it for the drill bit sharpener attachment.

 

I found my old mini vise after thinking that I had lost it in a move.I had to clean and oil it but overall it is still in really nice shape I ordered it from the Micro Mark catalog about 20 years ago for eight dollars ..I checked with my current catalog and the same vise is now 35 bucks plus shipping!crazy!

Me too. Gave myself an education in Lucas injection, some local CSC low pressure stuff, early McGee and mid-60's Hilborn, but have never played with Rochester.

I don't normally do online auctions, but this one was close. Plus, the skid was listed as old car parts. I need a 30/31 gas tank and a hood. The way it was stacked I could see the aluminum adapter, just couldn't what it might fit. I bought the drill press because it was cheap and I thought it would look cool in my old shop.

 

Those old post drills are cool looking and useful.

There is no such thing as having enough gauges!

 

Look NOS, no part numbers so maybe they are aftermarket, hood center trim pieces, what do they fit?

 

No part numbers look rather odd, Glass, may be for a foreign car, but what?

 

Cab lights for big trucks or lights on trailers . The lense set in a teardrop shaped metal housing

 

@The37Kid Those taillight lenses look like ‘52 or ‘53 Kaiser to me.
