Hollander interchange manuals. These are duplicates of what I already have so they are going to end up in the classifieds

  5. Was there a tire with the raised blades under the whitewall only?
I’m asking cause we had a big$$$$ customer drop of a vintage bias tire. At first he was wondering what it would take to build a mold to reproduce the tire.
    The compromise was this wheel
    IMG_2243.jpeg
don’t shoot me for the wheel pic
Everything below the whitewall was machined.
I only remember the blocks at the bead and not above the whitewall like the ones you bought.
I do believe I remember the original bias tire alternating between white and black on the bars. White in the recess.

or am I imagining all this.

  7. Carlisle was great today. Got a screaming deal on a pair of old TT style 15x8.5s. No marking that I found other than a faint "Japan" cast in the back. Zero curb rash, Chevy bolt pattern. Saw a ton of uni lug and 14" wheels. 15 direct fit anything is getting pricey. Hope they fit my 55. 20241003_161036.jpg 20241003_161044.jpg 20241003_161054.jpg 3b467a50-b8e6-4e39-a3bb-62a2bfc13f90.jpg
Also found a set of headlight rings for Lloyd.

  8. How would you polish the oxidized Mag wheels?

  9. Wash with soap and water (they're aluminum). Scotchbrite the oxidation and sand the rim with increasingly finer sandpaper. All the way to 2000 grit. Then mother's polish & paint the spokes.

  14. Storefront /apothecary cabinet? The bit on the right looks like a flour bin. The other drawers might have held spices or other dried products. Just a guess.

I know. I know the last guy on the HAMB to pick up something electrical, but it was for less than the cost of a cup of coffee at Hershey. Traced the patent and it was issued January 17, 1939 to Hugh W. Batcheller. Would be nice to find the two missing switches.

I am blessed in the fact that l live 35 minutes from Carlisle and about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Hershey. Here are a couple things l picked up here recently. I've been looking for the older style Eelco or Segal valve cover wingnuts that work on early Corvette valve covers. Extremely happy to find a complete set at fall carlisle.

I really didn't need this, but it was too good of a deal to pass up. Unlikely to customize or hot rod it in any way, it's not that kind of car, just want to fix it up a bit more than it is now. I'm hoping I can fix the paint without totally repainting it. Needs extremely little to be roadworthy. Needs some interior work, but this is the perfect thing to practice on with the sewing machine I got last year.

That looks like a super solid start to a project! Sometimes the clean more mundane cars are the ones we have the most fun with!
