Features The Official [Ed] Winfield Speed Equipment Thread!

  1. Thanks man! I guess I’m on the hunt for a carb to go with it now.

  2. Ok fellas who can tell me about this intake? Capture.PNG

  3. Is the adapter 1 piece with the intake or bolt on? Hard to tell from pictures.

Looks like a Typical Winfield intake with common winfield 4 bolt to 2 bolt adapter. Someone likely ran that with a chevy down draft carb.

  4. Its bolt on. I'm going to dig around on here to see some other peoples setups. It may be easier to build an adapter rather than find the correct Winfield carb for this manifold. It was a decent find on marketplace I feel like.

  5. Carbs are pretty common....but expensive. I've had maybe 25-30 carbs over the years. And 3 manifolds.

I have some Winfield pamphlets and full dealer catalogs on my website that you can flip thru. There is a ‘29 and ‘30 dealer catalog on there now, also have a ‘34 catalog scanned that needs to be uploaded. Unfortunately, don’t have anything signed by Ed…:(

On the bottom of the manifold there will be a cast in part number and it will also be stamped AA, B, BB. This will tell you which size carb you need to find. The square (base) bolt pattern is different for each carb. intake s66 b.JPG

I would have loved to attend one of the Winfield Weekends.
The "Winfield Weekend" in Las Vegas was an annual event where enthusiasts drove their vehicles, primarily Fords, to Las Vegas and visited Ed Winfield, honoring his memory and birthday. The event had a specific rule: all participants had to have a Winfield carburetor on their car. While not a traditional race event, it was a gathering of classic car enthusiasts

These manifolds were available in AA/B/BB sizes. Check for cracks near the port flanges

  14. Would any of those have any tuning information for a Winfield model M?

  15. That’s a hell of a looker. Finding a model M is in that condition very rare. There’s one over on eBay right now for the better part of 2,500 bucks. I’m afraid to ask the seller how they arrived at their price, As I think that eBay pricing model seems to be a little bit enthusiastic And many people are just using the pricing guidance. I hope you get a chance to run that carb.

  16. One of my favorite finds was an original Windfield shop poster. Took a bit to get it framed and still retain its feel. It is a nice size at 27” x 22” image.jpg
