My project for the day is getting all the suspension bushings installed on the '48 Ford coupe. Yesterday, I realized that I didn't have a spring spreader, so I built one. Today, I find out if it works. Wish me luck;).

Oh! I see. Throw the damn 350 in it, it can handle the 3000rpm trips better than the 216 id say.

  4. According to my Amazon Bosch tachometer, it’s 2800 at 50-55 now. Anymore than that and it sounds like the poor rods want to leave the engine. It can grande for all I care, but with my luck, it will happen in BFE between Paducah and your house! :D I’m reasonably sure the 350 will do 3000 all day and not break a sweat.

Have the dent in my '39 fender fixed and painted. I got a few runs, so scraped them off with a razor blade, wet sanded, and the fender is ready to cut and buff now! Over this winter I'm going to cut and buff the whole car.

40 Ford trunk lid supports are hard to find, took a different year support and cut the rivets out that hold the top mount on. Made a rivet and put the correct mount on for a 40, works good. IMG_2549.jpeg IMG_2551.jpeg

@choptop40 - Good deal, standard rotation the way it looks from a normal alternator.

Did it sink, and if it did, was it in fresh or salt water? Nice catch, by the way.

  24. One of my fellow Pepsi drivers was stopped by a younger girl in the inner city yelling "yo hit ma mama ! Yo hit ma mama !"
Poor guy thought he had ran over someone but it turned out he clipped a car with the tail of the truck while making a left turn. Lol

Marine carb should have tubes that bend back over the top from the vents. Does the alternator and starter have USCG approval stickers on them?

20241004_180635.jpg Worked on cleaning up the tempest engine bay, very rust free. I discovered the engine cradle brackets are centered it's the mounting brackets on the engine that are offset. It looks like if I flip em left to right it will offset the V8 1 inch to the pass side which would be perfect.

Looking very closely at the 1962 HRM article it kinda looks like that's what Mickey did.
