    @guffey bought this at Hershey from a man that knew nothing of it’s history. Anyone here know about it?
    Made of steel and weighs about 25 lbs IMG_1798.jpeg IMG_1797.jpeg IMG_1796.jpeg IMG_1795.jpeg IMG_1794.jpeg IMG_1793.jpeg IMG_1792.jpeg IMG_1791.jpeg IMG_1790.jpeg IMG_1789.jpeg

    A lot of modelling is scratch built, and that has the look. I hope you can find some info.

    BTW, Scratch is a seven letter word with only one vowel.

    Several years ago (10?) at the Detroit Autorama a guy was selling steel 32 roadsters, about 1/8 scale. But I’ve never seen a 3 window before. Very well done.

    Super neat "Lucky 7" find. Much work in that one, & the Tom's lettering is especially well done

  7. Amazing work, it's a shame that the craftsman that built it didn't sign it like a fine artist signs his work. HRP

    Hogg is a well known name in dirt racing... Maybe a family member?

    I seem to remember a fellow from Southern Illinois or perhaps the St Louis area that made them. I wonder if anyone on the large scale modeling page has more?

  16. That's just neat. Looks like a model of an actual car; built by a skilled modeler.

    Very cool... the roof seems to be a bit bulky though. I have what I think is a the nicest example of a resin 32 3w coupe done by George Zurowski from Long Island. This one is probaby 25 yrs old now. There is probably a buck master around somewhere, that they made the sand molds from. thumbnail (24).jpg thumbnail (25).jpg thumbnail (26).jpg

    I bought one of his 5 windows. It was a second so it had a few flaws

    @Moriarity [QUOTE="so is this a model of one of his cars?[/QUOTE] I have no idea, I just googled the name Tom Hogg. There was a Obituary from a guy in Louisiana. but no mention of racing. There are a lot of dirt racers in the Midwest shown with the same last name, so maybe a relative of him was what I was thinking...

    Maybe no help at all but;
    In the 50's,there was a group that hammered out some 1/8 scale race cars*,an had Model Airplane engines in them. Tether raced.
    A small article in a mag back then,showed some an talked about how they cut an hammered bodys,out of used 1 gal. cans for the metal n hot ironed them together. It was a one page with a few pic.,in I think Car Craft?
    Been a long time that I had not thought about that,but it was one of those things ya see as a kid,made me think I wanted to try { never did though.}

    My name is Tom... I'm approx. 5 ft 8 inches tall. I'd like to drive this neat little coupe... but, I'd need to be 8 1/2 inches in height.:rolleyes: :D

    I agree the roof is off some but for hand formed steel it is better than I could do 1 3 window thumbnail.jpg
