Nice ! so many times builders tend to miss the mark with a poorly designed or fitting top, this one is spot on !

I was wrong.
I thought it couldn’t get any better after the interior. Wrong!
Then the hood and fenders showed up.
And now You and Rex made a new standard for roadster tops.
And now…..it’s PERFECT

 

Would you show the brackets you built to allow the '32 chevy hood latch to operate. Thanks so much for the build thread!

you can kinda see em. I put my phone flashlight on the engine facing down and used the holes in the side to reach through and set them up . The front ones bolt to the crossmember with 10/24 screws. I tapped the crossmember. The rear ones I bent up from sheet metal

This next bit I made once, and didn’t come out perfect so I started over from scratch. I’ll just post the one . Imagine me doing all that before though haha. I love the old prewar cars Kurtis and Duvall did with the skirted front fenders so that’s what I’m setting out to do

 

As you can see above I made a model and Jason killlpack made one too a long time ago. Now we get into the real work . Pretty straightforward. These are the first ones and some wire edge tests also. I had the dies but no roller so circle city hot rods put the bead in for me after I wire edged it. The next series is me . I didn’t get the template right so I ended up redoing everything .

 

And now you’re all up to date. The next thing is trimming shaping and welding these in , then things are coming apart for paint . At that point the engine is getting replaced. This one is ok but it smokes and leaks a lot.

 

This has been a great thread to follow. Interesting idea on the fender skirting. Reminds me of a '35 International pickup front fender.

When I first saw this photo, I thought wow that's it! That's the pinnacle.

Then I saw this & I couldn't imagine that it could look any better, but now you've shown us the skirted front fenders the stock ones look plain & as if something is missing. Well done, I wish I could get to see this car in person.

I'm looking forward to seeing it come together.

I hammered the edge on a wood form, then you kinda clamp the wire with vice grips as you go through and hammer it over. If your bend height is 5/16” it covers a 1/8” wire nicely . Then there’s a die with a gap for the wire and you just bead roll that sucker.

No. I did see somewhere a totally stock set of 32 skirted fenders. I think ford made some but no idea why or where

 

I have been toying with the same intrusive thoughts since I saw this rendering and the European skirted front fenders.
