Well you never know... Here in the western part of Canada driving distances tend to be long. Heck Ive driven 2-3 hours for breakfast!

Great thread. Amazing job finding parts, and buy low sell high financing. Thanks for taking the time to post progress and pics. Roadster is looking great!

The F1 box install is almost done. There's a little bit more to this task than I expected, but everyone I've spoken to who has done it, has said it is worth the effort. I have to make a spacer for the column drop for windshield-steering wheel clearance, shorten the steering shaft and tube, make a Tardel style shim, de-index the pitman arm lobes, machine the taper for the banjo steering wheel to fit, and adjust exhaust clearance. There's a bit in it!

The complete steering column and box was a gift ! 20241012_151731.jpg 20241012_171632.jpg 20241012_172139.jpg

I started with a mock up, then cut a shim out of 3/4" aluminium plate from the salvage yard.

I put my yard sale $5 mill/drill vice to work for the first time, it's definitely not fancy, or quick, but it did the job.
