I usually see the opposite. I ordered a set of valve springs from Summit a while back. It came in a box big enough to ship a set of headers. IMG_2186.jpeg IMG_2185.jpeg

    It is stronger

Bought a Jimmy 6 head gasket. The seller packed it well with thick cardboard on both sides and two full length 2"x 1/4" wood strips to stiffen it. DO NOT FOLD or BEND in large letters on the outside. It was folded in half and stuffed into my PO box. When I complained the answer from the local Post Master was, "... sorry but it wasn't insured." It is a small town. I had fun with my wrist rocket for several months!

Our neighbor in Texas when I was a kid farmed 320 acres with an old Military Jeep. Every fall he took it deer hunting in New Mexico.

And a great Chevy 4x4 Video!

Gardner Nichols holds the current Production Truck record for the Peak, at a shade under 11 minutes. I reckon that 57 Chev truck would give his 'lectric Rivian a run for it's money if they both took the "straight up the side" route :D

    Cheers,

I want to know which engine they used. I would have gone with a 261 six. I read some comments on 4x4 site saying they didn't really make it because they used the winch. I'm thinking in '57 the winch was probably PTO driven. Even of not the generator was engine driven. That counts for me. Bad ass truck either way. Yes, Pretty sure they were NAPCO then, looks like it at the end.

Yep! They modified chevy and GMC pickups... I think the GMC versions were Pontiac V-8 powered... I could be way wrong....:(

I think the narrator said the trucks had "Thriftmaster Six" engines.

Cool, I'll have to listen closer. That would have been a 235.

When you switch over from those highway gears to a 3 series, and just can’t afford a new carrier

Be sure to use precision thickness washers to prevent runout.
