I've been torn since the first one. While I think the world of Jason & Brandon and I LOVE the show that they've created, I selfishly want to keep it all to myself while still showing off how cool it is. Oh the dichotomy! Seriously, of all of the multitudes of shows that I go to, rarely do they have the right people, the right cars AND the right location for both the event and the evening hang outs. GATR has hit a great formula and the explosive growth year over year is proof of that.
While I never got to attend LSRU or Paso in the early days, Salina was much cooler when the show was smaller and most of the cars were at two hotels across the street from one another. Pileup seemed much more my vibe at the old Grundy County Fairgrounds, Greaserama at the drive in was magical. I understand why all of these events had to change, and I hope that never has to happen for GATR because it is simply magical.
We put up two videos from the event this weekend and judging by the view counts already for our humble channel, the word is getting out even more.
    Viva GATR!

It was another great weekend! I've somehow made it to all of them so far and certainly intend to keep going!

3rd one for me and best so far. While I wasn't registered I still did almost everything the registered participants did. We took Howard, my humble daily driver deuce pickup and kinda parked in the back hiding from the ruling class. I have no idea what their gong to do next year if it grows bigger like it did this year. Lots of nice cars had to dodge buffalo chips and the rough terrain and dirt of the pastures to find a parking place. Over all, hell yes I'll go again next year registered or not. At 80 I've going to do my best to keep going to the same shows I've done for years. Thanks to Jason & Brandon for a great job.

I made it last year, but missed this one. I won't miss another one if I can help it. Great event!

What a great setting for a car show, and what great cars! I'm envious of those that live close enough to attend.

That's a long way to travel just to attend a car show, day trips are as far as I travel anymore. I can understand it if you have a car to participate with, I don't.

I go to a ton of shows across the country that my car don’t qualify for, heck the first 4 times I attended this event it was in my daily :). But I get it, sometimes it’s just not feasible.

Thankful to have this show so close, and have managed to be there every year so far. Great cars, great people, and great venue. Jason and Brandon put together a great combination that is attracting folks from all lower 48 states and beyond.

    Just my 2 cents.
Not ever an expert on shows. Work seemed more important.
But looking here at coverage of the Gathering has really struck me as Super,
As does the Extravaganza in TX.
While driving long haul, I was able to catch Columbus OH.
Two Hot August Nights in Reno NV
My haunts in PA + DE, MD are decent for sure.
This I gotta say when riding the highways the only place that the radio contest prize
was a 'T Bucket Rod' ( altho, they say "Bucket T" ), was Oklahoma (Tulsa).
Come to think of it the TV series of street racing began near OKC

I don't even go to local car shows as much anymore and when I do I usually hang out for less than an hour, maybe I'm just not that into it anymore. That ROC show and location looks so fantastic though I think I could spend a few hours.

I’m the same as you. I go to almost no shows even if they are in my town. However, this show is one that I can hang around at all weekend between the people and the cars.

It’s not invitation only but it is pre register and they select cars from people who put in.

Show is awesome! It is really not just a car show though, It is a gathering of family and friends. The actual show is on Saturday but we rolled into town Thursday and plenty of hanging out and having fun going on. Friday the whole town square in pawhuska is filled with hotrods from all over then later Friday night party at the host hotel and then gather at woolaroc all day Saturday and then a big parking lot party Saturday night at the Casino. It is a weekend that I do not plan to ever miss. As Travis has already said guys travel from all over to be there and it is worth every mile.

It's one of those bucket list events for sure. The best hotrod /custom events are always the ones that are far more about getting together with a great bunch of cars and people and not about how big a spectator gate you can draw. Bigger isn't always better either.

  22. They should franchise the concept, and spread the goodness throughout the country and the calendar. It worked for Goodguys and Autorama.
